Huh, my 3w has been in timeout for a few months. Cally 4hy heavenwood has taken that space and it seems to like it there.
I have always been a fairway wood guy and long iron guy. I finally gave up the 3-iron 3 or so years ago and now only go down to a 4 iron. I have a 18* hybrid in the bag but need to find the gapping distances to fill out the top of the bag. Not sure if it will be a 3w and 5w or another suggestion given, a 16* hybrid in lieu of the 3w and 5w. I do love swinging the fairway woods though!

I'm going through a slight bag change. Picked up a Titleist TSR2 driver in September and literally just had it out for its maiden voyage last week . Same for the Titleist TSR2 Hybrid with an upgraded Tour AD-DI 85 shaft which I picked up in February. The bag is a little light at the top with no 3w currently and an F8 5W in there. Looking to get new fairway woods from Titleist once I try them out. As for a favorite, it's whatever gets the job done on the course, whether it be the Titleist irons or never compromised putter which has been on a hot streak lately

I don't have one yet. Was looking to getting the Garman r10 for myself during Christmas, but my wife found a diamond ring she wanted. Maybe this Christmas will be the year.
Happy wife, happy life

First time out this year since September 23 with my new Titleist TSR2 driver and new Titleist hybrid on a boy's weekend in OC, MD. Played a course called Rum Pointe (https://rumpointe.com/). It was beautiful for the entire weekend...EXCEPT when we played. Temps never got above 50* and there was somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-25mph sustained winds which made for a freezing round (the feels like temp was probably closer to 35*). Hit some great shots and not so great shots but couldn't get anything started (did I mention it was freezing cold - and none of us really wore anything for that type of temperature). Still, had a great time with some neighbors and I'm excited to really put the new equipment to the test for league!

My wife "borrowed" my Bushnell 1500 and my last laser range finder, the Precision Pro's NX7-Pro, has disappeared into my daughter's golf bag, LOL. So now I'm thinking about picking up another Precision Pro - NX-10 or NX-9 Slope version...We'll see what happens...

Ordered this a week or two ago:
Titleist
Hybrid LH TSR2
Tour AD DI-85 HybRevamping the top of the bag. Picked up a new Titleist TSR2 Driver September of last year which hasn't even seen action yet. Now looking for a 3-w...me being me, I like having all the same manufacturer for woods so it will probably be a Titleist 3 wood.

@Jwc5149, i think he is talking about you .
But I will second what Derek is saying, the trips are fun and it is nice to meet the people you interact with on the forum. @MDGolfHacker, reminds me of the conversation we were having with the group in the house next to ours at the MD outing. They asked if we were all friends and my response was I think so but we all just met each other yesterday
Start planning to attend now, mention it to the SO/SWMBO, start putting your pennies in the piggy bank, basically do what you need to do to add this to your must do list.
@cnosil, lol...that was an awesome weekend made all the better meeting everyone and hanging out!

Now that my daughter is playing high school golf, I've been getting a lot of practice in, LOL. Today it was an hour putting while waiting for her to finish her 9. Her team practiced Wednesday night at the local driving range so I went and hit a bucket of balls. She played in a tourney last Friday and spent an hour chipping and putting...all the while running home and finishing up work, LOL. Swing is feeling good...which is the great news, but with the new job and her golf schedule, no time to play and see if the swing will hold up on the course. At the range I can be a plus handicap...on the course...not so much

What I think my swing is doing versus what it is really doing is an issue so watching a youtube video isn't going to give me feedback, only possible general solutions that I can try (which may end up messing my swing up more than fixing it). A good pro can watch you swing and make those adjustments. Having said that, it's been a long while since I've seen a pro to tune up my swing.

Played the inside 9 at NorthWest Golf course with the family and another family that we'd been trying to get out with. On a par 4 slight dog leg right (the dogleg has a small creek at the dogleg) so you either have to hit a long drive to get over the creek (I don't have that shot) or lay up. The dogleg is also framed by trees with trees coming in on the right side and the fairway after the dogleg slopes up to a slightly elevated green. Well I hit a lay up shot but pulled it slightly and ended up blocked by a few trees on the right. I had two options, to hit a wedge over the creek and be on the left side of the fairway in rough with trees coming into play or hit a low stinger shot between four trees at ~189 yards to the pin. It looked like there was plenty of room to hit the stinger so I took the 4 irons and executed it perfectly. On the green and had a makeable 15' putt that burned the edge of the hole. My buddy couldn't believe that I pulled the shot off, LOL...neither could I ha ha ha...

With the new job, I haven't had much time to practice but while my daughter was playing to qualify for her high school golf team, I spent some quality time at the range and putting surface to iron out issues that I have been having. Felt so much better after that practice session that now I'm looking forward to my next league play, not dreading it as I have been for the last month.

I played in league last Wednesday and walked away disappointed again. My game just isn't as sharp as I want it to be. Week in and week out I'm consistently shooting 41-43 for 9 holes (not terrible but not great either). Problem is, it's just enough of a miss that I'm not moving up in rankings and it's getting frustrating. Went to the range and hopefully worked out the hitch in putting and also in consistency for approach shots. We'll see what this Wednesday brings.

I currently have Titleist T200's and Cleveland RTX wedges (52*/56*) I choose a club mainly on feel and performance with looks following up as a 3rd criteria. I tend not to switch clubs at a drop of a hat as I feel the best way to drop the scores is with me - hitting the clubs more consistent what ever the club may be (limiting OB tee shots, closer approach shots, making make-able putts). As I'm getting older, my specs are changing too so I will most likely change out the driver/fww/hybrid as my swing has slowed a bit and I don't think I'm getting the max out of the stiffer shafted woods. I was fitted for the irons and will also get fitted to the woods when I make the change.
