Have you tried the Bryson line? Just tee that baby high and smash a baby fade over the left tree line.

Does anyone else feel like they are leaving something out there when you only play 9 holes? Walking by that 10th tee yesterday… I had already drawn up my shot…
I rarely play 9, doesn’t feel right. Haha.
I play a lot of 9 hole rounds. @Lacassem and I try to play them pretty much every Thursday in the summer that were not on vacation.
Would I rather play 18? Sure. And are there days I feel like I really could score well with 18? You bet. But with three little ones running around I don’t always have the time for the 18 hole round.
Tomorrow I got 18 on the books though! Hopefully my game shows up as we’re out bright an early.
edit: it’s usually on a 9 hole course too, so there’s no 10th tee for me to look at with wide eyes as I stroll to the parking lot.

My sister’s getting worse daily. Last night I got told she had a very long seizure and now she is in the hospice unit at the hospital. I’m waiting to hear if I have to drop everything to go see her one last time or if she will make it to next weekend when I’m off.
Thoughts and prayers man. Nothing I can say will ease that pain. I hope you get to spend some time with her.

I want to thank everyone for all the well wishes. We were able to get home in time when he was still lucid and coherent.
He passed yesterday morning…38 years old, leaves behind 8 and 5 year old sons. So incredibly sad.
But, again, thank you again for all the support here…great community of friends.
So sorry for your loss. Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Particularly those kids. I can’t imagine going through that.

I mean, I get your perspectives and obviously there's no right or wrong here, but imagine getting invited to a nice private club in your area that you're really excited to play, and then being told you have to play someone else's clubs. Of course you'll still want to go, but wouldn't you feel like you were held back from getting the most out of the round?
The underlying problem is he's got shafts that don't fit him, and from what he mentioned earlier in this thread, he can't really sort them out without making some swing manipulations that aren't best for his game. Completely agree that being selected is a coveted honor among us spies, but it's kind of a kick in the nuts to have this problem you know? Given that the competition itself hasn't actually started yet, I can't see taking the Cobra's.
Again, no right or wrong here, and far be it for me to quibble with His Majesty CCC4 Champion @B.Bostonespecially.
Haha. No no. I’m not meaning to start any arguments just offering my opinion.
if I were him and had access to the right tools I’d swap shafts and make sure to note weights and save any tip weights or anything that needed to be changed and put those sweet iron shafts into the cobra heads.
but I don’t have the equipment to that myself so I can’t blame him there. Other route would be to source from eBay and make a swap to a better fit. Prob wouldn’t cost much after resale of the ill fit shafts either.
@jlukes have you considered any options such as shaft pulls to swap in?

So quick question for everyone:
If you were in my shoes with the new set of Cobra clubs and got invited to play an exclusive private club, would you take the Cobra set, or your previous gamers that you have a higher level of comfort with?
I’m with @Bucky CC in this one. You’ve been given an incredible opportunity here, and maybe this round with the extra pressure of wanting to perform well will be key on you gaining comfort with your Cobra gear.
Play the Cobra’s and let us know how they perform under pressure!

First of all, you better watch out with those bombs Jackson is hitting. That was really impressive and he'll be or driving you in no time.
Congratulations on the new PB! That's a great score and hopefully you can keep up the stellar play.
No doubt! His best drives are already over 100 yards.

PB Alert!
played an awesome 9 with my son and father in law today! Before I get to my round details I need to share this bomb from Jackson! He played well and had a lot of fun.
I shot a 34 (-1) which is a person best for me on 9 holes. Driving was once again a positive strokes gained for me! While distance is down, most driver shots were up hill or into a steady wind. I also had a 206 yard 7-iron and 258 yard hybrid… the second longest drive of the day.
putting was on fire. I had 12 putts on the day (6 one putts and 3 two putts).
Arccos is a little off because I played the “back 9” men’s tees but in Arccos it was the front. I actually got an eagle on 5 and a par on 9 as the tee box changes for the back and they swap between being a par 4 and 5.

Got to play Owls Nest yesterday as my vacation continues. It was a beautiful if breezy afternoon. Started on the back with a short post three, but wind of the right when I fight pulls not the easiest start. But after that things got going well. For the sake of my review I hit the Max LS as much as possible. Even number 11 which for any have played it is pretty stupid but I pulled it off, had about 30 years left and got up and down for birdie.
From there the iron game struggled a bit as I have not had many uneven lies given my home course it's in a good plane so had to get used to that. Finally got in a groove in the middle of the round. Especially with the Max LS. I was looking it is the tee. Even with a couple very sorry drives up hill into wind my average was 249 and Shot Scope had my performance average at 264. By far my best driving round.
If it weren't for two silly the putts on the last two holes it would have been quite the round. Still ended up going 39/40 for a 79. Very happy considering I played longer tees than normal. Though not the backs so I could avoid this rediculous tee box on one par three, just for you @B.Boston
That tee box is rediculous. Haha
great round man! I like that you’re getting in a warm up round for next years match already! Haha
Interesting to start off that back. You miss out on ending on 18, but overall I like the front better.

Played a round today with a buddy from work and his son who's just picking up the game after years of playing baseball. He actually hit the green on the par 5 3rd in 2 and had his first chance at an eagle putt. He didn't make it, but did tidy up for a nice birdie.
I shot 58/57 for a 115. Everything was off today, I hit 2 fairways, no greens, and had 39 putts including 4 3 putts. I didn't hit a decent iron shot until the 12th hole, I was just scooting the ball along the ground for most of the round.
On the bright side, I did hit my fairway woods decently, including a cart path aided 223 yard approach on the 18th. Sure, I was almost green high on a par 5 in two, but it also took 6 more shots after that to put the ball in the hole. The most pure 5 wood I hit hit a tree and literally took 5 seconds to drop straight down. Should have taken my medicine and just punched out.
I'm not disappointed in the scoring, I've been working on swing changes and the overlap with my current swing had me feeling like I'd never played before. It'll get better, just got to go through a rough patch before the magic happens.
It was a fun, beautiful day to be on the course and I really enjoyed the company.
Sounds like you were able to enjoy the round and see another learning the ropes! Glad you had a good time despite the scoring. Going through swing changes and playing can be tough. We could all benefit from your ability to realize that and just enjoy the round.

Count me in boss! I'm good with a $10 entry free to help keep all owners interested. No preference on platform.
So this will be more like fantasy golf where we're all in one bucket vs the 4 divisions we had last year?

So ready to see some competitions populating soon with all these "Delivered" packages!
Yeah I can't wait to see what the challenges are this year, and how the team aspect will work out.
I'll be happy as long as I have the opportunity to show #teamyags the business in some challenges. I gotta try my best to dish out some retribution after being challenged so much last year.

Shot of the day for me wasn’t a flashy one.
The 4-Hybrid (or well my TSi3 3-hybrid set to 21* and flat) off the tee on the third hole. If I looked at a map of all my shots on this hole you’d see a lot of shots that ended up left from over drawing. It was so nice to see the straight/fade off the tee with the hybrid to the center of the fairway.

That driver is a beast. Very nice consistency right there!
It’s amazing the difference a shaft can make… same holes, similar conditions, two weeks later:
still not ready to declare the Motore X winner against the Ventus, but it’s pretty clear the MMT driver shaft is not for me.

Well as Mark mentioned we got out for out morning round this AM. I have really nothing to complain about this round.
Pretty solid round for me, and I’m very happy with the Epic Max LS off the tee.
Average 257 off the tee (more on that in a moment) and after missing 3 of the first 4 fairways I hit the last 3 with some really good drives. 5 GIR is another solid number for me. I have one three putt (on the same hole as last time too) which was frustrating, but the greens were much faster today, and I left myself in a really bad spot with a downhill bending putt that just kept running past the hole. I almost made the comeback putt but missed for the tap in 3 putt.
I only had two real errors, on the last two holes. My second after a great drive on the par 5 was fat and didn’t advance the ball well. I dropped a second ball down and had the right club, ended up on the green and made “birdie” with that ball and bogey with mine (that damn 3-putt!). Then my tee shot on the par 3 9th was terribly fat and toey. Ball went into a creek so I re-teed and hit a great shot to about 8 feet and made the one-putt bogey. Another bad swing or two but really I felt pretty good today.
Now, the Epic Max LS and Motore X combo performed really good today. Missed my first 3 fairways with it, but hit the last 3 and was never really in a terrible spot. One I had to hit a punch under some branches. But the highlight was in the consistency:
With the exception of the 7th, every drive was 260+ This is exactly what I saw in my fitting, and should highlight the forgiveness in that head. On top of that, the 7th hole is a uphill par 4, and the course was still wet. I went back in history and my longest on that hole was only 263. So the Max LS performed awesome.
The strokes gained figure at the top of this post really highlighted it for me. It’s the first time all year that my driving has been positive strokes gained against a scratch golfer (hey we all have goals right!?). That honestly surprised me, but I’m stoked to see that having an impact right away.

Good dew sweeper round. 6:45 tee time for 9 holes was done before 8:30.
-40 (+5) 1 Double, 3 bogeys and 5 pars.
-5/7 fairways 1/9 greens (the approach struggle continues) 4 up and downs! (with an average putt of 5') and 13 putts including 5 1 putts! and no 3 putts! (The O-works knows its on the testing hot seat)
Struggled off the tee, only 2 good drives. Again approach shots were just not good, was short and catching them fat. Chipping was fantastic and put a lot close and the putts were just falling for me with really good lag putting again. I had my chances for bird and just didn't happen but kept the damage to the minimum.
Here is one, focusing on setup, and I have choked down on the putter about an inch (thanks @B.Boston) which is helping me keep the toe down. This was a 39' first putt and had a 3' easy tap in.
Really good putting performance today.... as you can see in the video, they were getting back to shape after all the rain. They were quick today!

I'm waiting on my woods yet (Driver, fairway woods, and hybrids), along with my bag. No one has the bag yet, two of us have all the clubs, two have 2/3s of the clubs, and the other two only have 1/3. (the thirds being woods, irons, and wedges)
The others are welcome to commence trash-talking at any point, but I'm going to keep it pretty civil. The challenge will be such a mismatch that it would be akin to dunking on a 4 year old and then getting in his face about it.
I’m short so I have no problem being that guy for #TEAMCHAD and getting all up in #teamyags’s business while they go down in flames. Let’s go baby!!!!!!

I’ve noticed center hits have a great meaty sound. It’s gets tinnier out on the perimeter, but that’s good for feedback and encourages me to hit in the middle. Hahaha

You’ve got the right idea playing bogey as your par there. there’s a hole at a course near me that is the #1 handicap hole. Uphill dogleg left, OB left too. I’ve always said that a 5 is a great score there and it’s helped me eliminate some bad scores from trying to bite off too much.
