I've been at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins the past hour or so.

.

All of a sudden it's gotten hard to read any of the posts. I cleaned my glasses twice. Before realizing it's the dilation taking affect. 😰

I better stop now befoe I type something that I don't intend to!!

You may or may not know that my wife and I formed a 501C3 non-profit called Perfect Image Leadership Foundation in 2009 dedicated to the development of positive life skills in at-risk youth.  (It's a long story on how this got started.)  It's a small organization because at the time we both still worked at full-time jobs.  This week we were notified that we received a $5000 grant from a local community foundation to support activities in a small rural community.  Our foundation has a program to teach business etiquette and leadership skills in youth so they can gain access to better paying, higher quality jobs.  They certainly don't get it from school, and many kids that we see don't have a great family life either.

That's great news. Congratulations.

Congrats Kenny. I've done some work with some nonprofits here in Ohio that do the same thing.

One definition of success is leaving the world a bit better than it was when you entered it.  By that definition, your wife and you are surely living successful lives.   I congratulate you and admire you for your efforts to improve your world.   If you would prefer not to publish a mailing address for you organization, could you PM me so that I may provide a modest donation.

PS:  If you send a PM let me know, otherwise, I might not know I got or how to retrieve it.   When it comes to this computer stuff, I'm rather illiterate.

Made a small contribution via a charitable fund I'd set up last year .. very happy to help out such a very worthwhile cause!

Thank you for sharing information about the organization and the work they're doing, and thank you for your efforts!!

Good Lord at the new members jumping on board today!!!  I was scrolling through the signees for the Bushnell range finder review and saw a boat load of folks from Georgia and the southeast in general.   Hell it made me dizzy just looking through all the recent newbies on board.  Great thing for the community and I hope all those folks don't just taste the pie but enjoy the whole menu.

Yeah, that seems to happen with each new testing opportunity.  But like you said, if they have a look around the fourm just a little bit while here, they may decide to pull up a stool and stay for a while.   I realize not everyone will, but if we get a couple quality members  out of each one, that'll be great.

Absolutely!  I sent some of the local boys a hello and told them to check out some of the outing links. Sometimes a little nudge can start an avalanche . ;)

Heading to Macon, Ga. today to have lunch with my son at the Cracker Barrel. It will be a good day to share some time, catch up on what's going on, and give him his Christmas gift. Looking forward to it!

I'm starting to get nervous... I fly out tomorrow morning for an interview. It starts with dinner tomorrow night, then various rounds of one-on-ones over the course of four hours on Wednesday morning. I fly back out right after lunch... Just thinking about it has my stomach full of butterflies. I'm good with whatever the Big Man Upstairs has for me, so just praying to do well!

Think everyone is getting cabin fever and working the web. Ready for the rain to stop and get out there. Going to play Wed, Thr and Friday and hope I don't lose too many balls in the leaves.

Everything IMO happens for a reason. You go out there and look that person in the eye and tell em you're no doubt the best man for the job.  Confident, strong, and believing in yourself.  If you don't get the job, something else will be right for you. Good luck!
