null
Play what you enjoy, what you feel makes your game better, and just leaves you happy. There are so many great tour balls out there that one isn't going to give you a significant advantage over the other. It all comes down to personal preference

mdumble21
Like yourself, I was using the Pro V1/X for the first half of 2016 after getting a dozen of each second-hand online. I bought a sleeve of the FG Tours on a whim from a local course, and I was immediately impressed with the feel, responsiveness, control and spin you can get from them. I immediately bought a dozen of them once my stockpile of Pro V1s had almost ended, and I've got a few of them left still. I've since tried the TP5 and '17 Pro V1/X, and whilst I adore the new Pro V1X, I would still go for the FG Tours purely due to the price point - which is AU$20 over here. There is very little difference between them otherwise apart from a slightly higher ball flight from the X. chisag
... While I am reluctant to say any ball is better than the ProV1 for others, I can certainly say there are many you will find is the equal. My favorite is the Z Star because it suits my 100 mph swing perfectly and the 2017 is a great wind ball. But for bargain hunters, I just don't think anyone can come close to the Taylor Made Lethal packs. Next to the Z Star the Lethal is my favorite ball and for me at least, they both out perform the ProV1's. And $100 for a 50 pack is the best deal going in balls:http://taylormadegolf.com/Lethal-50-Pack/DW-SY652.html?cgid=taylormade-balls-lethalpacks#start=2&(Edit: even though I have two double eagles I still don't have a hole in one. So maybe I ought to play a ProV1 every now and then. ) Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... Ventus Red Velocore 5R Fairway: Qi10 5 wood ... Kai'li Blue 60R Hybrids: 430 Hybrid 22*... Diamana LTD 65r DHy #4 ... Shankster
I will relate it to winning the lottery. If you won the lottery twice with the same numbers, do you continue to play those same numbers or do you change them? Or anything that has treated you well, do you change just because? I really want to like these Wilson's and I do, they are roughly the same price as Pro V's, so that part doesn't matter. Do you buy a pair of reeboks after you've worn nikes all your life just because? Wilsons are harder to find "pre swung" as my theory is after you hit them once it's a used ball. silver & black
I've had two hole in ones. The first was with a TP5.... the second with a ProV1. If I could get the TP5, I would still be gaming it. I refuse to pay the coin for the newest iteration of the TP5.... or any of the tour balls. I buy from Lost Golf Balls at less than half the price. I'm going to try either the Lethal or the Tour Prefered this year. Both are still the TP5 I think??? TM keeps changing names and I can't figure out what is what with them anymore. TheWahoo
Happy wife = Happy life. As I have mention before, when it comes to Christmas, birthdays and Anniversaries, the wife knows that she can always rely on getting me some golf stuff. I get most of my golf stuff from a locally owned and operated golf shop where I know the people and they know me and my game. So that's where the wife goes. When she asks for golf balls, they immediately give her the Pro-Vs, so I use them. Truth be known, I play just as well with the Velocity, but she takes their advice regarding other purchases, especially equipment, as well. I don't want to endanger that.
