Hello all,

 

New member to MGS and wanted to say hello. I'm in Mooresville, NC and have been playing golf since high school but really have become obsessed with the game and getting better at it since my late 20s (now in early 30s). I am loving MGS and being able to learn and interact with others.

Welcome to MGS. My wife is originally from Mooresville and my BIL is still there. I love the Mooresville Muni course.The front side is an early Donald Ross design and the back 9 I do not know who designed it but it is one heck of a track. It has been probably been 5 or 6 years since I played it. Now my BIL who does not know beans about golf said they built a new clubhouse and he read they had made some changes. I hope they did not mess with the Ross design. That front 9 was designed and built by Mr Ross around the same time he designed and built Carolina Country Club in Charlotte. Now they redesigned CCC and ruined the original Ross design.

That's where our work league plays. I never played the course before it redesigned with the renovations but I can promise the front 9 (only side we've played this season in the league so far) is still represents a tough test with excellent and FAST greens. Lots of bunkers so if you don't put it exactly where you want it it can get away from you in a hurry.
