tommc23
Just got my first set of custom built clubs today and the clubs I didn't replace got new grips to so that all my clubs match. I also got a new bag because I was sick of the 14 way deviders so I got myself a 5 way devided bag. The only clubs I kept in the bag are as follows- Xr16 14* 3wood with Fujikura speeder evolution 2 xstiff shaft Ping Iglide 56* and 60* wedges with true temper shafts got these off the shelf but I think I got stiff shafts. Ping Scottsdale TR putter-just put super stroke on it. I just had a set of Tom Wishon 575 MMC with pure midsize grips on True Temper S300 stiff shafts. I got a 4i made in a forged cavity back to see how I like it because I'm on the fence about getting a 3i. The 5 through A are all muscle back version of the club. tommc23
Thanks I hit them well at the fitter and I couldn't afford the Muira that I hit well nor the KZG I hit well. They were all close and at the range they felt great and I enjoyed the feel of the ball of the face way more than the M2 irons I had or the Callaways I used before that. Probably going to do a review on them since I don't see anyone reviewing smaller companies or even talking about them on here often. Kenny B
Good looking clubs! I really don't like 14-way bags either, and Pure grips are the only ones on my clubs. chemclub
Might also take a look at the 565MC Definitely thinking about the 565 for long irons. Was going to let the fitter tell me what he thought was best. I play a pretty minimal iron currently (Ancient Maxfli Revolutions) which I hit really well, but you can never have too much help in the 4-5 neighborhood. I am a believer in playing the most forgiving iron I can stand the sight of plus all of the PING pros right now are playing the 200s so little ol' me can surely do with a more forgiving iron. I actually played some 70's rounds with the Mizzy JPX EZ but I could never get comfortable with the chunkiness of those clubs. Planning on getting Wishon irons and wedges. But the fitter is also big on PXG (he only fits Wishon, Miura, PXG). My marriage or PXG - going to have to think about that (plus I don't buy all of the PXG hype anyway - cool innovation in how the clubs are built though) Bag: Bennington Quiet Organizer 9-Lite (link) Cart: 3.5+ Driver: F9 speedback, Accra iWood Woods: Sonartec GS Tour 14*, Fujikura Six S DI: T-MB 2 iron, KBS Tour-V 120 X, Irons: PP-9003SN 4-GW, Nippon 1150GH Stiff Wedges: 1957 K-grind SW, LW, Nippon 1150GH Stiff Putter: EXO Indianapolis (link) Ball: MTB
bullldog
My 560s look & feel of players club but definitely are forgiving. My game has gone to pot from bad back & age but I think I get better results with these than my Speedblades
tommc23
The guy I got fitter by sells Wishon, Muira, and KZG clubs mostly with a few others mixed it. I actually liked the feel of the 575 cavity back that I got in 4 and 5 iron. They do not look like a typical cavity back which fits my eye but they do have a noce forgiving feel to them. That was at the range lets see today how I hit them on a course with lots of elevation changes. chemclub
I thought I read somewhere that Wishon said the effectiveness of perimeter weighting and other forgiveness tech tends to fall off around the 8 iron loft. I'm trying to talk myself into believing it's true so I can get some 575 muscle backs 8-A. tommc23
I like them a lot it's different and I have to adjust with them since there is no real technology to them I seem to hit them a half club to a club shorter.
