NFL is wishing they could flex games right now that’s for sure.

... Well gentlemen just wait til next Thursday when the Commanders 24th play the Bears 31st. Bears have a total of 390 yds passing in 4 games. The Chargers average 307 a game. Should be the punters families dream game.

As Bears fans, we should be excited that the game is televised and don’t have to find alternative methods to watch.

... I thought you needed Prime Video to watch Thursday night games? I signed up for the NFL Ticket this year so I could watch all the Bears games. Kinda conflicted with a new energetic coaching staff and a bunch of new young and hungry players but still no NFL QB. It should be clear to most that you are a franchise QB because of your mind, not your arm. When you have both, you are competing for a SB.

You do, my wife is a prime member so I benefit.  For other games, I have to find other methods to view the game.  
 

I think Fields is talented but young and has nothing around him to provide any help.  Receivers and an o-line are also areas that are and have been areas for improvement.   Hard to develop as a QB if you have no time to do anything.

... Fields holds the ball too long and that is a bad combo for a mediocre pass blocking oline. I have lost complete faith in him  and of course would love to be proven wrong as the season progresses. But I see receivers open all the time and Fields won't throw the ball. Last game from inside the red zone Kmet was wide open in the flat and Fields looked at him and like he always does, preferred a WR further downfield but all were covered. By the time he came back to Kmet he was covered. Those easy 5 yd gains on 1st and 10 that can be longer with a broken tackle but those quick short throws are the bread and butter for Brady, Rogers and even Mahomes.

... But the worst trait I see from Fields is waiting for a WR to be open and not throw them open. Many times when a receiver breaks out of their route the ball should be halfway there depending on DB positions and safety alignment. Sheesh, I did that in high school. Fields waits til they are out of their break and "open" before throwing and not only does that take more time and challenge the Oline, it gives DB's a chance to close the distance because NFL DB's are so good and so fast. What concerns me is he hasn't changed any of this since the first game he played last year. Seeing him against Rogers that often throws in less than 1 second was a stark contrast since Fields averaged over 4 seconds before throwing or in most cases, running after holding the ball too long. Next game use a stopwatch and see how often Fields releases the ball in 3 seconds or less (fwiw Allen averages around 2.3 seconds). And I get he is young and struggling with NFL defenses so I don't expect it every pass, but my guess is other than a WR screen, you will see zero throws in under 3 seconds.

I still don't get the going for 2. There was so much time that the Chiefs could easily get a field goal meaning you are losing still. Take the tie and see if you get to overtime, or you know you end up stopping the Chiefs like you did and then take the chance to win.

That an all the teams going for it on 4th down so much more this year, especially the Lions this week (4 and 9 seriously?), is an annoying trend. I am a numbers guy, its literally my job, but feel that the simple math on these are not worth the risk generally given momentum and other things that come with a big stop.

…especially on the road in Arrowhead while your team is on the tipping point of either basement dweller or contender…

I don’t want to hear the excuse that this is just a mistake.  You’re earning big money, you’re hooked up to an entire coaching staff at field level and above yet you’re handicapped by poor decision making.  McDaniels will soon be another fired guy earning $$ while sitting at home watching everyone else on Sunday.

Its analytics. They are looking at the "its a 52% chance to get in for 2". This was my whole discussion in a big thread yesterday on a group chat with some friends.....Both KC and LV screwed up. KC kicks their XP they go up by 8.....making the 2 and going up by 9 yes puts the game out of reach completely for the most part but going up by 8 FORCES LV to go for 2....

Then we get to LV....kick the F*ing XP and tie the darn game. The whole Davante Adams toes in wouldnt have mattered because you are tied you have a chance in OT!....I dont get it I really dont. My blood is boiling as we speak talking about it. I could coach this crap if you're goin to make stupid decisions at the end of  the game. Ill take 1/8 of what these dopes are getting.

I hadn't seen the KC also missed a two pointer. I just think in football there just are not enough games to make this work out. Sure its 52% going for two and say 90% you make the extra point. I get it over the longer term going for 2 makes sense, but how many touchdowns do your score a year? 70, you could easily have a year where you only convert 25% of twos, but would have made 95% of XP and now all of a sudden that year it was better to kick.

Its like playoff baseball, yeah over 162 games the averages matter and work, but then in the playoffs it breaks down playing only 3 to 7 games. Its not a coincidence that the As and Rays have not won a series. Sure they all use analytics now but they take it to an extreme to save money. In the playoffs its all a coin flip and talent seems more important.

If there is a 48% chance I will be hit by lightening during a thunderstorm I am absolutely not playing. 48% chance you lose is challenging lightening not rain.

100%....If I listened to all my employees all the time I wouldnt have a job lol.

I get the athlete mentality, you want the ball in your hands. When it comes down to it you want those guys on your team but you also need to win the game and IMO LV blew that game by going for that 2 and not tieing it up.

Local sports radio (Scott Zolak old patriots QB) talks about it all the time and its the most relatable for me....get a damn feeling for the game, have your finger on the pulse...Youre away in a super hostile KC stadium. You were up big and lost that lead, KC is riled up and you gave them so much ammo on that stop they didnt need.

Not only that, the last drive for LV the play calling can change to. Josh Jacobs was running like a mad man, I guarantee a few draws would have put them closer and able to kick a FG instead of missing passes.

The whole dynamic just changes when you're tied....I just dont understand
