Srixon ZX7 MK2

So Srixon had a deal where you get an extra $100 on your trade in so I was able to get fit into into their stock option and get it for $340 after seeing result in the fit and loving the look, feel and on the ZX7 2 movable weights. I could not pass on that price. I settled on the ZX7 of the ZX5 LS despite the #'s being slightly better on perfectly struck drives with the ZX5 LS as I am pretty consistent in my mis either being hitting it low heel on the face or just leaving the face open and pushing it right. Being able to put a heavier wight in the heal and moving the CG that way helps the club face rotate a little more to square the club and when I hit the low heal miss hit the gear effect is not as bad. I ended up in the Mitsubishi Tensei AV White 65 X flex. I hit the Tensei consistently a degree or 2 higher launch and 100 to 200 RPM less spin than the Hzrdus Black 4 Gen. Here are some #'s from a trackman session with it.

Comparing that to the Calloway Rouge ST Max LS I traded in for it. I will admit I was not fit for the Callow as I bought it used but I ended up in the same shaft in the Srixon so pretty fare comparison anyway. I swim the Srixon about 1 MPH on average faster "probably just a confidence thing". But that combined about .2 better efficiency, and a few degrees higher laugh angle and about 200 RPM more spin. I gained on average 6 yards carry and 10 yard total distance. Now I do believe that this is probably to do with I tended to leave the face more open with the Calloway "even with the loft sleeve in the draw position" which would cause both the higher launch, spin and of course hitting it further right on average as well. I think for me this has mainly to do the ability to move the weight to the heel.

Finally after a few weeks having it I took it out for its maiden voyage. On very windy day I was able to hit 6 of 8 fairway, about a minor miracle for me, 🤣. The 2 missed fairway were just bad swings. Of the 6 fairways hit one included the low heel miss. One on a 293 yard par for that I took straight over the water for about a 275 carry that landed on the green and stopped about 20 feet from the hole "I know, not a fairway technically but I am counting it". And finally on the last hole "370 yard slight dog leg" I took it over the corner to have about a 25 30 yards pitch to the hole.

So overall I think this driver and the Srixon line in general are a great value compared to the big names, at $500. Especially if you can catch a deal like I was able to which with Srixon still trying to make a name for themselves especially in the drivers and woods I would not be surprised if a similar deal comes up again at some point. But for sure if you are looking into a new driver I would strongly suggest you add it to the list to test.

Interesting! I also play the Callaway Rogue ST Max LS 9° since last season and was fitted into one of their stock shaft offering: Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI 70X. I have about the same swing speed as you do but recently started strugling with a too much spin (2.7k-2.9k rpm). My guess is my spin loft (mainly due to my dynamic loft) is higher than your 10.6° which is very good!

I tried the Srixon ZX5 LS MKII and ZX7 MK2 (because I'm a self proclaimed gear nerd and will try about every new shiny club that comes out on the market): The stats were simply amazing! Given the price point of current Srixon drivers in comparison to that of other OEMs, I would not be surprised that they acquire an important part of the market starting right now.

If I ever find a deal or am able to sell my current Callaway for a decent price, I would definitely be tempted by the Srixon ZX5 LS MKII or the ZX7 MKII (mostly because of the movable weights). It's noce to have feedback from somebody that did this exact change.
