 Just something to think about, I have a friend who used paint cans. He filled them with cement and put in a long eye bolt with a washer and nut at the end. Put it into the cement and when everything hardened he buried the can. The eyebolt stuck up an inch or two out of the ground but the can was completely covered. He attached the tie downs to the cans in several locations. That sucker never moved.

Oh I saved some! Got all 8 legs and 2 of each of the other pieces. Saved a portion of the tarp for patching….already have a tarp and padded gym squares for the ground lol.

love the cement idea. I’ll be doing eye bolts to my deck which has 4x4 legs. Going to do much better rope with carabiners on the ends and weave it through the top square od the structure and connect it to the 2 eye bolts. That’ll keep the sucker in place

It was a rough Monday starting at 1am….i woke up with the feeling it was bad….when the spotlight was on by the pool I knew it was not good lol.

New tent is in folks. Will be putting it up Friday and making sure I actually tie it down my way.

These Hoosier race tires fit on a 6" rim and make great tie down points as well. Fill them with concrete and put an eyebolt in and your canopy won't go very far.

The wife told me to order what I wanted for Christmas, so I did. I ordered the Spornia 8' net, the hitting mat, and the Rapsodo mlm 2 pro as a bundle from Spornia. The large nets are on backorder till sometime in early January, but I will join y'all in putting together a practice area this winter.

I've had a spornia net set up in my garage for the last year and change, I think you'll really enjoy it!

I’m looking at putting it in the garage. Detached garage with 10’ ceiling. The only problem is that I keep a couple of nice specimens of American muscle in there. I would have to back them out before I would bang any golf balls around them. I probably won’t take them out if we are having inclement weather. Wife says I could always sell them so I could practice when the weather is bad. I told her that she was not being helpful.

Alright back in business. This go around I did what I should have last time. I used a 4” eye bolt and looped the rope through and around the top of each pole connection and then brought it back to the eye bolt which is in a telephone pole (house came with it used to be a horse shoe pit and has a big light on it).

on the other side I used 17” spiral stakes, did the same thing with the rope. Once I do the platform I’m going to tie the tent into that (platform will be be fairly heavy). If this doesn’t work then I was not meant to have a temporary setup lol.

the extra rope on the eye bolt is just the slack. I didn’t want to cut the rope since I’ll be reusing it later once this comes down in the spring.

You taking it down in the spring?  Still good to use for those rainy days or when you don’t have the time to go to the course.

I guess I could leave it up until I wrap up the shed. Just have some work to do in the area to prep for it there going to require a skid steer

I figured the shed build would take a while.  I didn’t know it would wind up being in the same location or part of it.

I was not planning it this way but this area is flatter than the other spot I had it and a little more protected from gusts, nevermind the rock solid telephone pole to tie off to lol. I may be able to work around it but my goal wil be to get up the shed as quick as possible (which will be most of the spring and summer) but if I can finish a basement in 3 months I can do this in 5! Might be easier with the tent out of the way.

2nd time is the charm and much happier with how the net came out this go around. Just need to get the screen up in the coming weeks and do the platform. For now she works for hitting though!

I will!. I have all the links just need to add them all in (do not recommend the net I got, it still works but had rips in it, was not sending it back though and was good enough for what I needed).

NOTES:

I used a rubber matting underneath the hitting screen that I was able to procure from a friend. Highly recommend something underneath the net for outdoor use. Will keep your screen cleaner.

The projector is one I was also able to get from a friend and is not made anymore but there are similar ones out there. This one happened to work great because of the throw it has.

All in for what I actually purchased I am around $700 for this structure and hitting area. I will be building something permanent next year. I will be doing a hitting platform in the next week or so and will add that to this list when I do. Looking at another $150 for that once I am done.

The net is honestly perfect, the net I tightened up a little and the ball bounces back just enough to me. Enclosure is deep enough I have not had any issues with popping the ball over it yet. 
 

forgot to add the foam to have in the enclosure to put on the conduit. Will add that to that to the main list but here it is. needed about 14 of them

Dang! That's looking good Mark! You're making me wish I had a spot in my yard that was flat enough for something that size. I have one spot that's big enough for my net and a mat with a some space behind but to go out far enough left and right, it would run into the neighbors yard. 

I am also fortunate enough to have enough room under the carport if I back the car up.

That's a thought, although I have seen me drive a bobcat and it ain't pretty. 

I was originally wanting to tear down the ramp we have and build a platform, but I think the wife is eyeballing it for a front porch expansion.
