MEVO…. Ready or Not… here we go!!!

Got some quick thoughts up on the Mevo. Will probably add a little but wanted to get something up after getting behind the eight ball at work.

After setting up the net I hit few balls to get the feeling and this are my best shots. For some reason I am loving this data

Well you piqued my interest. Had to dig around in the basement to find my calipers (thanks Christmas decorations! Now I don’t know where anything is again).

Looks like I’ll be ordering a 1/4” hole punch.

Just wait until you add video to all the data.  It’s really amazing what such a tiny package can provide.

I'd love it too if I carried my PW 140 yards, yeesh! Got any workout tips for us weaklings in the back?

You ain't kidding, it would be great to have somewhere like that to practice indoors. I had a building at one of my properties that would have been great but it got packed with stuff and it's no longer mine as I just sold it about a month ago.

Broo I missed it and that ball hit that door and came back like a “pelotito rocket” back at me

Yes you can use this tape. You can also use those cheap metallic stars that teachers use to put on test papers back in the day. Metallic sharpies. I have used them all successfully.

I've debated doing something similar to this setup in my parking garage below my apartment, but with cars lining the right hand side, I'm terrified of an accidental shank or ricochet

This is my biggest fear and why I haven’t set anything up.  It would have to be in my backyard and I am terrified I would miss the net and hit a house or a person.

I have the same fear. The houses in my neighborhood are close together and I have woods behind me and I can just imagine either shanking one or having one launch high and hit a tree and bounce into a neighbor's window.

@Byrnzee believe me without cars nearby I was scared of a miss and the ball comming in the wrong direction

I got another range session in with the Mevo today and I got video! Thanks @Lacassemfor the advice on how to get it to work, you're awesome. 

I did cheat and use the best ones for the video. I also don't have driver included simply because those shots were horrendous and I hate hitting off mats. I usually set the ball to where I split it in half with the crown of the driver and couldn't sink a tree that deep into the mat. 

I set up with the Mevo at 8' and it seemed to pick up well and be accurate from that distance. I was watching where the ball landed and it seemed to be right on for most of the shots. There were a few that weren't right simply because the Mevo doesn't pick up side spin on the shots where I duck hooked the life out of the ball. 

I used a metallic marker on the balls I hit with the PW and GW. I even had a few chartreuse balls in the bucket that I marked and it seemed to pick up the spin pretty good. I didn't get any photos of the balls since I was using the phone for video. 

I would also like to note that it's been wet after the rain yesterday and I'm not the most consistent ball striker. I use the whole face and I'm good at it. 

I hit way too many shots fat and know the area I need to work on moving forward. Getting the proper weight shift is the most frustrating thing in golf. 

Overall, I only had one missed shot and that one was a worm burner I hit with the driver after tearing the bottom off a tee in an attempt to get it set where I like it.

8 foot?  Did you adjust the distance on the app?

I made sure to measure it out with a ruler and change the setting on the app. 

One thing I did forget was to change from PW to 9 iron for the last three shots I hit that got credited to the wedge.

You can edit those in the app so you keep your averages right.

The way to deal with that for a driver is to get some of these puppies and set them on the mat. They come in varying lengths and are pretty cheap. Yeah I know I got Josh quoting the OP.

I cheated and bought a mat that takes real tees cuz I hate those rubber tees.
