Popular Post CarlH
Last few rounds have been cold....and so has my game! Played 2 awful rounds in a row....putting wasn't sharp, chipping/pitching was abysmal, and ball striking was erratic. I hate winter golf with the extra clothing and (for me) wet/muddy turf with dormant grass. cksurfdude
So I actually got out and played over the weekend - and yes those nifty heated gloves worked nicely! - and despite extra layers and messy conditions played reasonably well! It's been a while since my last round .. been practicing and continuing lessons, and then practicing some more .. and it seems to have paid off. Won't say I hit a lot of great golf shots, but I hit mostly playable shots at least and very few stinkers. Still have problems off the tee, though. But... Only lost one ball off the tee which I "shouldn't have" (quote-unquote) .. solid shot down the right side .. we saw it land just into the right rough .. but when we got up there, no ball to be found anywhere around... Temporary greens in place now so it was just a practice round and we didn't keep score. Chipping / pitching towards the flag was a total guessing game if the ground ahead was wet and soft, ie. no runout, or drier and firmer, ie. more than expected runout; and then putting (so called) was just kinda knock it towards the hole and watch it bounce around over the uneven ground - really makes you appreciate modern manicured greens! Anyway nice to be out there .. .. who knows when the weather here will allow another chance.... Bang60, JerryB, GolfSpy_SHARK and 4 others 7 Quote WITB of an "aspiring" play-ah ...
