Due to an injury @tommc23 has had to withdraw from this testing opportunity meaning @MyWifesSwingCoach is now joining the crew for this test! We look forward to having him on this test and seeing the input he can provide.

Hey all.  Well, I'm happy to report that my caddie arrived yesterday!  😍  My UPS driver asked about it and I explained my fortune of having been selected to test this product.  He had never heard of the product before but thought it was really cool.  I told him to join MGS forum and read all about how the product performs.

First off, it comes in very well designed packaging which, in today's world of shipping, is quite important getting products to destination in one piece.  I'm not sure "fragile" stickers even get looked at anymore.

The instructions for unpacking on the box flaps - brilliant!

The unit is very securely contained and protected.

While I had already done a bit of pre-arrival research on the cart and saw notes about being careful on opening sequence, the folks at Stewart provide a great set of instructions.

The only difficulty I had was getting the handle release button depressed - which took a bit of pressure.

Beyond that, the cart is a snap to unfold.

The folks at Stewart Golf sent us all several accessories; umbrella holder, ball holder, and phone holder.  634507953_phoneholder1.jpg.024219cc2be22ae38d466794a5198fc9.jpg135985809_ballholder.jpg.110e199b30a67c5c56672d171fd0e342.jpg1772423778_phoneholder.jpg.4345d53cbf41d935b97d953b1fd9080f.jpg

With these now in place, it was time to remove the battery and get it and the remote control pendant charged.  I had read some user feedback about the battery detent release being difficult, but I found it very user friendly.  However, with the packing label removed, it's location and need to be depressed, would not be so obvious to another user.  Perhaps a sticker on the battery or frame would be a good idea.

The charging cables for the battery and remote are of nice quality and very easy to use.  It took 2 hours to go from "red light" (charging) to "green light" (charged) on the remote and just a little over 4 hours for the battery.

    195973253_batteryaccable.jpg.3e9b65221bf8909ce79c425374ebba5e.jpg981813488_batterycharging.jpg.ed5d2d92ec0049df62cf5c579492d70a.jpg

While waiting for the charge to complete, the engineer side of me started looking over the cart. The "handmade in Great Britain" conjures up images of Rolls Royce and Bentley... a era largely gone by where true craftsmanship and attention to detail ruled the day. My first impressions are that this is in fact a well designed and constructed product. Small things like actual wheel bearings and metal for the motor/wheel engagement splines.  The front and rear wheels have a high durometer urethane material.

I'd say the only thing that stands out as a bit weak is the handle rigidity.  It does flex quite a bit and it's something to watch - particularly with the weight of a bag and clubs onboard.

I would have guessed the use of one drive motor, however there is one on each wheel with the ability to adjust "trim" (steering alignment) using the control pendant.

Okay, enough with the un-pack and initial set-up... time to go full robot 😊

Now some pics of the cart bag I received! The embroidery, and the carbon look are awesome! Really nice bag! I don’t like the grab bar on the front because my wedges aren’t long enough to stand above it when the bag is loaded for a riding cart, so I’d rather the bar/bars be on the sides.

I changed things up a bit this past weekend and went out Saturday morning to play nine with only the three Edels and my putter. I brought a camera along and captured the round as a vlog.

Really positive results and my full-swing wedges are starting to come around as well.

Loved the video! Which shot tracer are you using? Does it also give any yardage? If you answered the shot tracer one I’ll look back and read I’ll admit I’m being lazy

I can only comment on the 115's but, for me, the trajectory and descent angle are spot on. I'm holding more greens and getting more spin compared to the old S300 I had in my irons.

I'm going to be putting some Modus 115 wedge shafts in my SM8's as soon as I can.

I’m looking for iron shafts and I currently play the s300. Sorry being lazy if you answered this already, but how similar does the stiffness feel since flex isn’t something that is controlled by anyone? Is it close or does it feel stiffer?

I've gone down in weight from my DG S300 - approx 12g per club lighter. The difference is really noticeable to me in that I can tell where the head of the club is much better. I feel like I know where it is all the way through the swing.

As a result I'm hitting the ball much more consistently and getting a really nice flight. I seem to be getting a lower launch but peak height looks higher and definitely having softer landings with more spin into the greens.

I'm not much of a shot-shaper at the moment but needed a fade on one shot this weekend. Slightly blocked out and needed a good 10y fade to get to a tight pin, tucked back right. Absolutely nailed it to about 6 feet 🙂

Safe to say I'm loving them 👍

I'm also considering putting the 115 wedge shafts in my SM8's as my club pro now has a contract with the UK distributors.

Does it feel like you can load it more on partial shots to put more spin on the ball with the lower clubs?

My final Review is up on the Review page.  I'm really happy with the Sub70 5-wood, its in my bag for this weekend's Member-Guest tournament, and beyond for the foreseeable future.

Dave looks like it is fitting into the bag perfectly.

nicely done on those who finished their review

Update from this pass weekends tournament. The Sub70 5 Wood was instrumental on my game all weekend long.  It was straight and as long as it need it to be, between 215-230yds consistently.  It was great of the tee and off the fairway, it became the most reliable club in my bag besides the driver.

I hit it low at times or high at times when need it, playing partners all commented on how straight it was and consistently down the middle I was always hitting the club.

I have to say am happy surprise at its performance, made me consider looking into their hybrids.

Their hybrids are very good check the review we did last year we all enjoyed them

I love that this club is adjustable. I hit 15-20 shots with it how it arrived, standard setting & factory weights. I may have had 3 or 4 decent shots was all. Most of the time the ball was low flight and a pretty big hook. I had to really work to get it to turn right and that just threw off my swing. I put the heaviest weight they sent in the toe and adjusted the the face Angle up 1 1/2 degrees. WOW what a difference that made. Straight ball flight with a slight draw if/when I got quick with the swing. What I might do is run a test with the current settings, then return it to the original settings to show a comparison. The ball fakes further and seems ti jump off the club face.

That sounds similar to what a few of us did in the hybrid test last year. A few of us found that putting the heaviest weight in the toe helped us as well. I know I moved weights all around to find the best ball flight and most consistent feel. Has anyone else messed with the weights or is stock working well enough?

Is this where I should be posting my updates!? This new testing format has me all twisted up.

Yes, from what I was told when I did mine these posts are where to do your weekly talking the final is done on another page

It honestly has me strongly considering a 2h version of it and dumping my 3 wood altogether.  If I can hit that just as far as the 3 wood but with way more confidence in the smaller head, why not?  I know guys that have a 2 and 3 hybrid and no woods. The only advantage of the 3 wood is that one magical shot every year that you're like 260 with an open run-up and you crush it perfect. Otherwise par 5s are either gettable under 240, or completely out of the question for another reason.

I also have thought about this

I don't know about the rest of the testers, but as I have gotten more and more comfortable with this club, I have absolutely started hammering it.  If I have it on a tee where I just need a fairway finder it is going so straight and with such little spin that its running out like crazy now that some courses are drying out.  I had a 290 ball on Saturday, but I also had some crafty shots with control around the course on par 5s. This thing can truly do it all.

I had some out distance my 3w during testing and that’s quite a difference in loft considering I game a 13* 3w. It is a beast one you get the weights right
