Got Problems?

Had the same thing happen to me.  Two day shipping turned into a week shipping with prime turned into a call.  Oops, sorry they say, must of gotten lost in the shipping.  They immediately refunded my money and I re-order the item.  The second time, the item arrived within the two day prime promised time.  A day later, the first package arrived.  Now I have two exact same presents for my son.  Called Amazon but they said it was already noted as lost so consider it a freebie (it was a $20 remote control helicopter).  I guess Amazon knew I'd need a second copter.  The first one lasted three days before my son accidentally stepped on the landing gear, LOL.

It's crazy how our pets are almost like our kids. They are every bit as much part of our families as our kids and loved ones. I think it says volumes about the kind of person you are,the way you feel about your pets.

Because my wife and I never had children, our dogs have always been child substitutes.   I take comfort knowing that all dogs go to heaven, because it wouldn't be heaven without them.

While I obviously have no memory of it, I have been told that I was babysitted by a dog.   Our yard was basically how much of the field was cut.  When I was a toddler, I would be put in the yard with the dog.  The dog knew how far I was allowed to wonder away and when I reached that point, the dog herded me back to the house.

When I was around five years old my Mom said I took off running up the dirt road we lived on.  She ran after me and as we were about to top a hill she (in horror) saw a road scraper coming over the hill.  Right before the scraper approached me my dog (Butch) pushed me in the ditch and was hit by the scraper.  No doubt he saved my life. Butch ended up with a broken leg however he fully recovered and was a hero in my eyes. My dog was also my guardian angle. They are truly special creatures that the good Lord blessed us with.

That's why I lived in Bethesda and commuted to Germantown.

The MARC was the problem yesterday. Canceled 2 trains and the next was delayed another 30 minutes. 1.5 hours on the platform in 35* weather then packed into a train car shoulder to shoulder. Almost drove in, lol. Today though with the snice (snow ice mix) I'm telecommuting :)

My Rant is I haven't had any MGS time the past month or so.  Between being slammed at work from the minute I walk in to my part time basketball/radio stuff, it seems MGS suffers.    Hopefully things will clam down a bit in March.

I'm a little late to this, but I thought I'd share my two cents. I remember all of my old dogs very well and fondly. Snoopy saved my Mom from a copperhead in Alabama once and Hudson was my pal through thick and thin. After Hudson lost his leg he didn't slow down a bit and lived to be 10 years old (beagles don't live that long) when he died. I am not over their loss, and I don't expect to be (thanks, Garrison Keillor) but I cherish every memory of them that floats through my mind, and I thank God for letting me know them all.

I'm pretty sure I left my 8 iron on the range Saturday as I was using it to warm up prior to working on my driver. I played nine holes with my wife Sunday afternoon and didn't notice it missing then. Tuesday while warming up for our weekly blitz I noticed it was not in my bag. I checked in the pro shop, cart barn, and teaching center and no 8 iron to be had. Man that makes me angry when some pecker head takes something that is not theirs. There was a large regional high school tournament at our course Saturday with tons of kids on the range. Maybe one of them found it and will turn it in soon or maybe not..... :o(

I feel your pain - I play at a private club and last year ( on 2 different occasions) I lost both a Calloway ball retriever and a range finder. I hope it was the grounds crew and not a member that kept them.

Yeah, that sux...

I try to pay it forward and turn things in - hopefully it'll come full circle someday.

In fact, we usually will run up to the group ahead to see if they lost things, ask as we pass groups on adjacent fairways, finally give up and turn in at the pro shop as we leave.

That's the proper thing to do

Maybe someone stuck it in their bag planning on dropping it off at the pro shop and forgot. I'll keep my hopes up for a few more days.

That's exactly what happened to me.  Years ago, I left my LW on a hole, and when I went looking for it it was gone.  I checked with the pro shop every day for a week... nothing.  Then one day I joined up with a single; good player.  We had a great time playing together.  He noticed my clubs, and said he had an LW just like my set that he had found and had meant to turn it in, but forgot.  I was happy to get it back!!  I hope you find it.

I find that one of the few advantages of being left handed.   Most golfers play on the wrong side of the ball, so left handed clubs do them no good.

It should turn up.  It's not like it's a wedge; an 8i doesn't really do anyone any good unless it matches their set.

Another story...  my wife and I went up to Sandpoint Idaho to visit her relatives.  Sandpoint has a 9 hole Elks course that we played with her nephew and his wife.  My wife chips with her 9i, at the time a Cobra SS, and she left it by a green.  On the next hole she noticed she didn't have it, so we went back to the green; wasn't there, and we asked the group behind us if they found it.  Nope, but I suspect they had it.  I wasn't ready to call them liars and search their bags.  We went into the clubhouse and told the guy what club it was and to call us if it showed us.  We live about 4 hours away.  Nothing.  Then one day about 3 months later, her brother who lives in Sandpoint comes for a visit, and brought the club.  He found it in the Elks clubhouse rental set and brought it to my wife.  I had already found another one on eBay, so she had two 9i clubs!!

I guess I need to stop ranting. Got a call as I was boarding my flight and let it go to VM. It was a business contact of mine inviting me to the Master's for three days. Pretty much all I need to do is fly there and everything else is covered.
