Peaksy68
Last Saturday night I was listening to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, live. They played a sensational show. The conditions were red hot too. It was an outdoor show, 20,000 people there and it was over 100F during the afternoon. By the time they came on the temperature had dropped to a relatively comfortable 90. Had a great night, went with my wife and daughter and a great mate, his wife and one of his sons. Our kids had just finished "O-week" at University, my mate and I have been friends since our O-week in 1987. A nice bit of symmetry. GB13
As a Shinedown fan, I'm ashamed to admit that I'm just getting around to listening to their new album, but I've been doing some putting practice while listening to it for the first time. They really seem to have gone mainstream and really abondoned their hard rock roots. It seems like a lot of my favorite bands have gone downhill lately: A7X, BFMV, Disturbed etc. IMO, this is their worst album by far. russtopherb
Eventually almost all bands will sell out for the money, if they stay together long enough. If you’ve been busting your butt for 10+ years living out of a suitcase and ruining personal relationships because you’re never around and all you have in the bank is $2000, you’d jump at the first chance to “sell out”. Or, maybe as you aged your musical interests evolved. Release the same album and you don’t sell because fans think you’re boring. Evolve your sound and you don’t sell because you’re a sellout. Neither band is doing what made them big in the first place.... they are still great bands, but their original fan bases don't care for the new direction. I guarantee I'd sell out for the money too!
