We used to do a guys trip up to NH and played Owl's Nest.
That is an amazing course - I could play it every day for the entire season.  So much fun.

Didn’t take much to convince the other guys we need to play a round there. Looks like Owl’s Nest and Ridgewood one day and North Conway Country Club and Wentworth Country Club the next.

Or maybe we will just play Owl’s nest twice... haha

Excellent!  The place kind of sells itself when you see it online.  Hope it all works out for you and you hit some "career" shots!

Heading out on Sunday for the first time this year. Not expecting good conditions, lot of "mud balls" and dirty towels. So excited though.

Well, weather permitting we're going down to Thompson, CT. I know nothing about it and don't imagine it's anything great, even in mid-season. Quite a few places trying to open this weekend though.

I guess it's at the speedway there???

Thanks, I think it's called the Raceway golf club? I did a little reading online, not much info, looked okay. I'm just really looking forward to getting out there and knocking some of the rust off.

I enjoy Highfields and play there a couple times a year. Played Blackstone without a GPS or laser and it was a mess. Shining Rock was great until I chipped a wedge hitting out of a bunker with a boulder under the sand.

This thread is great and hopefully the NE guys can get together at some point.

My routine group is split between Boston and Hartford now so we end up at Highfields or Shining Rock or others in that area because it is a middle point. I would be interested if anyone from here got together there.

I was just there for a putter fitting, some good guys running that place. Might have to swing down and check out the new drivers.

How was the putter fitting there?  I had one there a long time ago and didn't care for it at all.  I know the guy that did it then is no longer with them but he tried to change my putting stroke during the fitting.  If I wanted that I would have gone for a lesson.

Just show up.  No appointment needed.  I went a couple years ago and it was fun.  It is about the only time I've ever been able to hit whatever club I wanted with whatever shaft I wanted which to me makes it worth the visit.

Nice!  I'm really interested in the Mizuno shaft analyzer and what it has to say....also would love a chance to hit the 919's.

Playing on Friday so I'm not sure I can get a hall pass, but I'm going to try it.  🙂

Take the family with you.  I do and they hit balls on the range, mini golf or hit the batting cages.  If that fails tell them it is work related research since you are a forum moderator.  If that fails they do it every year.

If that’s the case... how can I apply to be a forum moderator?! I’d like to have a built in excuse for lots of golf related activities!

The fitting was great, I posted about it in the putter forum. But long story short he did not attempt to change my stroke, but optimize my equipment to it. He even talked about how everyone is different and he stands open so he needs different things. Sounds like the opposite of the old guy.

It was a lot of fun to swing clubs that were different to hone in on the best fit.

Give my post a read and let me know if you want to know anything else about it!
