Hello, I recently joined the forum, but have tried to stay active to learn more about golf.

i have played golf for about 5 years but have only recently been playing it more often compared to a few times a year.

what I love about golf is it is one of the only sports that it doesn’t matter how you look, or how long you have been playing, or your background anyone can play and have fun with golf.

I found golfspy while scrolling through Instagram and saw them talking about some of the new products that have been announced by Callaway, vice, Titleist etc. and decided to check it out and learn a lot more about the different products and peoples opinions on the game of golf.

  I’m from liberty, Missouri. And my go to course is usually creek more golf course, but I’m usually going between a few courses so I can consistently improve my game.

The best thing about golf in kc is the amount of people that actually play golf, and how they are willing to help newer people get into the game. Worst thing would probably have to be some of the course conditions, a decent amount of courses in Kansas City get to a point of very damaged fairways and the rough being very thick.

i work at Best Buy as a Home Theater specialist and I am also going to college right now for my degree in aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering at KU.

i’ve had my username for a while but I originally game up with it because it involves my families lucky number 3, and my first name and last name initial.

What do you love about golf? It has a nice relaxing feel except when I get pissed at myself for a bad shot and it's me vs the course. It's something I used to do with my grandpa a lot and I get to play with my father a lot now

Probably the only pest control technician that's terrified of Roaches I was supposed to be a Journeymen Painter but tearing ligaments in my ankle while deployed and 3 surgeries said otherwise.

Biggest questions I get with bag set up from friends is when they first saw my 5-pw all hybrid set up. People laugh but I get roughly 10-15 more yards a club to my previous ping g425 irons and I hit them much straighter and consistent. As a new golfer these clubs make the game way more enjoyable for me and I cannot say enough about the quality from Eleven Golf

My next question I usually get is why I carry a 43* hybrid/iron and a 44* Wedge. love my hybrids but they are not as consistent for me when taking off power or shortening my swing, and I despise taking full shots with wedges.  PW hybrid going currently about 128y. 50* Gap wedge is my 25-70y club, 58* SW 25y under club. The 44* wedge I play from 70-97y currently. Still leaves me a bit of a Gap around the 110y mark but better than the previous 75-120y gap

Probably should've done this when I first joined, but might as well say hello to everyone and answer some questions.

How long have you played? Been playing for 3 years now. Tried it when I was 9 for the first time, but like any other kid, wasn't too interested in it, and liked bowling more, so I stopped for 15 years.

What's your Handicap? Currently at 17.1, but hovering fairly consistently between 16 and 17 for the last month or so.

What do you love about Golf? Meeting all sorts of new people, and making friends that can last a lifetime. Recently have developed a love for challenging myself and committed to playing a new course once a month, with no expectations.

What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Read some articles on and off this year that i found interesting, and wanted to give my own opinion on some of them.

Where are you from? Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, IA

What's your home course? Home course is Ellis Golf Course in Cedar Rapids. Every now and then ill change it up and play Gardner Golf Course in Marion, IA

What's the worst part about golf in your state? Usually just the weather. Being this far north we get snow, so the season is always shorter, but when it is nice out, we almost always have a decent amount of wind that makes the day challenging.

What do you do for work? I load trucks for a wholesale grocery distributor in Iowa City.

Why the username? It's my username for any social media page I use, and an old nickname from some friends I bowled high-school meets with.

What's your home course? Home course is Ellis Golf Course in Cedar Rapids. Every now and then ill change it up and play Gardner Golf Course in Marion, IA

What's the worst part about golf in your state? Usually just the weather. Being this far north we get snow, so the season is always shorter, but when it is nice out, we almost always have a decent amount of wind that makes the day challenging.

What do you do for work? I load trucks for a wholesale grocery distributor in Iowa City.

Why the username? It's my username for any social media page I use, and an old nickname from some friends I bowled high-school meets with.
