Doug Sanders, a 20-time winner on the PGA Tour, passed away on Sunday in Houston.  He was 86. No cause of death was disclosed.

Remember, he missed that 3 foot putt to win at the 1970 Open Championship, then lost to Jack Nicklaus in an 18-hole playoff.  He was quoted:  “They still ask me if I ever think about that putt I missed to win the 1970 Open at St. Andrews,” Sanders said. “I tell them sometimes it doesn't cross my mind for a full five minutes.”

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

My dads clubs, the clubs I learned to play on, were Doug Sanders by Ram. Not sure where they ended up.
