World Tour a step closer?

Latest news suggests a more collaborative approach to the future Tour schedule:

It is - after all, a global game - and hence it needs a global effort to support it.

Maybe Greg Norman may see his dream after all? Thoughts??

If Tiger isn't on board with it it will never happen. Too many big names have already said they won't participate.

This makes more sense than the original proposal of a separate entity that would compete against the two big tours. The need for players to get exemptions for pga events to play on a separate competing tour was the death of that idea IMO

This is completely different from that completely separate tour someone was hoping to organize.  The BBC report simply suggests that the PGA Tour and the European Tour will work together going forward.  ALL of the big names are members of either the PGA Tour or the Euro Tour already. To me, that kind of collaboration pretty much eliminates the potential for a completely separate tour to ever get off the ground, at least in anything close to the form that was being discussed..
