Unofficial Review: Golfworks Speed Clamp Tool

Ok, this may be the second most random review next to @Thin2win's review of those tees. I am going to make this review short and quick.

The tool I am reviewing is this:

What does it do? It clamps down your shaft when you are doing club work, for example, when you are changing grips. Why is it better than a bench vise with the cheap rubber shaft holder? With the vise and cheap rubber shaft holder, you have to tighten and loosen, and if you didn't tighten enough, the shaft can slip, if you overtighten, its possible to damage a shaft (graphite). With the speed clamp, just pull the handle and it will stop when it has reached the proper tightness, no risk of damaging. And then push it back up and you can pull the shaft back out. No adjustments needed for different shaft sizes.

Downsized? On the expensive side, about $100. Also, this may or may not be considered a downside, but you should bolt it down to a workbench. There probably are other ways to mount, but bolting down will prove the most stability.

Seriously, this thing is life changing for golf club building work, i am not joking.

I was looking at that recently. I do not do any club building .. only occasional grip changes .. but balked at the price. Well that plus my uhhh "workbench" is actually just a steel mesh shelf!

It's definitely not cheap. I got tired of using a standard vise, so decided to give it a shot. In my mind, its worth the money, but value is a personal thing.

I'm pretty sure this is a compliment. I'm taking it as one.
