SD1199
1st hole #2 Hobbits Glen Par 5- Normally when I hit a good fade over the trees on the right, I end up going for it and usually end up with a bad result(water, push right into the trees etc) maybe 1 our of 5 ends up on or just short.. Today decided was going to play it smart. Payed off and sunk a 26' foot putt for the birdie. Probably haven't learned my lesson and will go for it next time again 2nd 16h hole Hobbits Glen Par 3. - This was one of the shots where I did exactly wanted I wanted and had the distance perfect. Set up or hit a slight fade choose a 7 since pin was back and I knew if I hit it well I could get it back there, but little risk of going over the green. 13' putt for birdie GolfSpy_SHARK, JerryB and bens197
GolfSpy_SHARK
Ended up with this because it was the only hole last week that I played correctly start to finish. Forced layup par 5. You run out of room around 260-270 an if you miss left you run out of room at 220 and will have to punch out to the fairway, still wont have a shot at the green. 3W if I miss is bad, very little room for error and hybrid is honestly a better play but worked out. hit 4i over and just trickled off the fairway. I could go at the green with a 3W again but again is probably even riskier than the tee shot. Ended up 60 out for a nice smooth 60* that released a little bit and had an 11' 2 putt par. Hopefully next round I have a hole thats a little less vanilla. ejgaudette, Vegan_Golfer_PNW, bens197 and 2 others 5 Quote Check out my reviews: G710 Irons Official Review I MC Shaft & V Series Putter Official Review 2022 Forged Tec's Official Review I Nitron Push Cart Official Review WITB: Weapons of grass destruction (link to WITB) Traverse is filled with all this shiny metal and tracked by RadSpeed 8* - MotoreX F1 6X SIM 3W - Project X HZRDUS Green U505 Driving Iron 17* - Project X HZRDUS Black SpeedZone 4H - Project X HZRDUS Black 2022 King Forged Tec's 4-PW - KBS $ Tape 130 48 (SM8), 52 & 60 (SM7) - Nippon Modus 125 S ER2VI PROV1X #19 Are you a veteran? edingc
Two beautiful holes back-to-back this morning for birdies. Pretty sure they are the best I've played both holes all season, not necessarily from a score standpoint, but from a swing/execution standpoint they were spot on. First up, the lone par 5 on the back, No. 14. Hit one of my best drives all season on this hole into a 10-12 MPH headwind. GPS had me 225 into the center of the green, decided to go for it with my Super Hybrid because I had a perfect lie in the fairway. Water short and right. Ball came out like a dart right at the pin and landed middle of green and rolled out onto back fringe. Chipped down the hill leaving a three footer that snuck in the right side of the cup for a really quality birdie. Followed that up on the short par 4 No. 15 hole with the best Super Hybrid I've ever hit from the tee. Really high baby draw that actually landed on the right edge of the green and rolled into the back fringe. Hit a perfectly crisp chip shot with my 58 to four inches and tapped in for bird. ejgaudette, GolfSpy_SHARK, mikeanthony and 2 others 5 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 3.6 / Anti-Cap: 9.9 (Last Updated Sept. 1, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. edingc
May have been the most beautiful drive I've hit in my life so had to post it here. This fairway goes up a bit (30 feet from tee box to landing area), so to see 299 is fantastic. Left me a pitching wedge that I left to the underside of the hole. Twenty foot eagle putt just missed, leaving a three inch tap-in birdie. By the way, the "Elevation Profile" in Google Earth Pro is really cool. Yeah, it's listed at 454 on the card. All uphill and it's not uncommon for the fairways to be pretty long. It's become significantly easier though since they had to take out a dead tree on the inner side of the dogleg (satellite imagery doesn't show that yet). But to your point, there's a reason why the rating/slope is 69.4/114 from the back tees. It's not overly long and pretty forgiving as long as you don't find out of bounds around the perimeter of the course or get stuck too deep into the trees between holes. ejgaudette and Vegan_Golfer_PNW 2 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 3.6 / Anti-Cap: 9.9 (Last Updated Sept. 1, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. MattWillGolf
My hole of the round today was hole number 7 on my home course. It is a par 3 over water and because there is water this a nemesis hole for me normally. Today it was playing 110 yards according to the Shotscope Pro LX+ range finder and 107 yards to the H4 GPS m testing for the forum. So I went with a nice easy PW. I hit it to 18 feet and 2 putted for par. And as I am finding with my test, I forgot to tag on the tee box. mikeanthony
The new Shot Scope H4 had its maiden round this afternoon and there were some significant trial and errors on my part … played with the H4 clipped to my belt and it’ll take some time to change up my routine and remember to tap the tag to the H4. Below is not so much my best hole, but def my proudest. It was a bogey 5 for the hole and I’ll need to learn more about how to edit my score. The drive was my 3rd longest on the day, managed to carry the tree line, but got an unlucky sloping hard kick to the left … left me just to the right at the base of a tree with low overhanging branches on my line directly at the pin. Had an opening that required me to aim way out to the right of the green and draw it in. Not my stock shot, which is a slight fade. Clubbed up with the gap wedge, choked down on the grip with the ball in the back of my stance, took a half-somewhat check swing … and somehow managed to flight the ball below the branches, carry the pond and draw it to the right edge of the fringe. And hot damn did it feel great to pull that shot off. My joy was somewhat nullified … putted my 3rd from just off the fringe and got to about 5ft … just burned the edge on my 5 footer, tapped in for bogey. edingc, Vegan_Golfer_PNW, JerryB and 1 other 4 Quote Driver: G410 SFT 10.5* 3W: Speedzone 14.5* Hybrid: TS2 19* & 21* Irons: Forged Tec One Length (5i-GW) Wedges: T22 55* & 59* Putter: 002 Mid-Mallet Ball: Callaway Chrome Soft LS & Prime-X

SD1199
Saturday Club Championship Hole number 14 452 yard par 4. This is normally a bogey or worse. One of the tougher par 4's. Drive is up hill and if you are in the fairway most likely have a side hill lie. Approach shot is typically long and downhill to a pretty small green. Pin was tucked back left on Saturday. Short in the bunker long bounces into the hazard. Hit a really good drive for me on this hole, for some reason on of the holes I usually don't drive well. Approach was 175 downhill into the wind. Decide to go for the pin, hitting a draw off the side hill lie. Hit the exact shot I saw in my head, slight draw right at the pin. Ball end up checking up and spinning back leaving me 37' for birdie. Missed the put about an inch to the right. I will take par on this hole all day. JerryB
