With Capt. Trevor Immelman's and Capt. DL3's announcements over the past 24 yours, the Presidents Cup teams have been finalized for Septmber 22nd.

No question the powerhouse lineup of the US team is without question, and on paper the advantage belongs to DL3's group.  Having said that... what needs to happen for the International team to pull off one of the largest upsets in resent history at this event?

Give us your take!

Just me or does Kisner seem like the odd pick there?

I don't recall him having a stellar season or doing too much. However I'm a bit at a loss as to who should replace him too.

He finished 2nd at WGC-Matchplay event and is kind of a matchplay specialist.  Its a fun pick, everyone always loves the guy and he went undefeated on his previous Presidents Cup team.

That being said, Zalatoris being injured certainly helped him get his spot.

Kisner seems to do well and really thrive in the team events.  His resume doesn't always fit in, but I think he must have good history at matchplay/team events.

Yeah, I see your point.  I think that Kisner is one of those guys that works extremely well in the "team" environment, which is huge for a Captain to get some leadership and commaraderie building with the rest of the team.  Kisner is liked by everyone... so I can see why Davis picked him.

Like the others said...more of the WGC having a factor here...

...I'm also thinking it has something to do with his popularity among the golf bros.  DL3 knows how this works and getting the fans engaged is a bigger deal for the Presidents Cup than the Ryder Cup...Kis is hugely popular on Barstool and Riggs and the Foreplay podcast kids would pillowtalk him to sleep if given the chance.

On the International team, Munoz is a guy that can shoot crazy low rounds... if he has one or two of those days... it won't matter who he is against.  I'm also looking forward to seeing what Tom Kim will do in this format.  He is fearless.

Kisner is a great match play player is one of the reasons he was selected.

Even though the Internationals are outgunned on paper, it should be a good contest.  Nothing like being the underdog to free up the mind, find that added motivation and extra gear in the transmission. And yes, I think Kisner's selection is all about his resume at these type events.
