Video taken and sent. Now to figure out if it's a Mezz Max or DF2.1.

What is a benefit of anything but the standard shaft? I'd either go standard, or at most ACCRA upgrade. But I just don't know if there are any benefits for the upgraded shafts.

I have the Accra - I could have gone full-tilt-boogie on the shafts, but felt like the most I personally would splurge for would be the $100 upgrade to Accra.  After speaking with the fitter, and his commenting on all the shafts, the Accra felt like the best bet.  Considerably better feel than the standard steel (per him and Sam, for that matter), not a huge upcharge.  

That being said, Sam has mentioned a couple times that there's a new shaft in their matrix that is INSANELY good, but it's a hefty upgrade (the TPT, $399 upcharge) - but his impression was that it's quite simple worth it if you want THE best. But (shrug) - I really love the feel of the Accra.

Yeah, if I were to upgrade it only be to the ACCRA due to costs, if I even upgrade at all. The others are just too much. Maybe if I were fully retired playing 3-5x per week and I had a few extra bucks to splurge I might go full tilt. But right now I just don't see it helping enough for someone at my level.

This is great feedback - not crazy about spending additional $ on an already expensive putter, but I've been eying the Accra as I've heard similar good things about it (plus you can get it in white).  Its going to be realllllly hard to not pull the trigger on this in the coming days...

@Shrek74 one important point...prior to the TPT option, the Accra was "the" preferred shaft as it was engineered best for the MEZZ.1.  If you want to upgrade, you'll find that it'll mesh quite well.

I have the LAGolf P135 in my MEZZ.1 and I love it but I have nothing to compare it against besides the steel shaft putters I used immediately prior to testing.  That was a Bettinardi BB8 Wide and a Scotty 11.5 Phantom X.  The feel is noticeably better and I trust the engineering department who pride themselves in saying the graphite putter shafts are truer and more consistent.

I'm looking at the DF2.1 (max MOI, most forgiving) and the Mezz Max (second highest MOI, second most forgiving, I think). I'm curious if it was purely a look to you or if you were trying to get the most MOI/forgiving or what. I'm not really sure how I'm leaning at this point - looks or MOI.

There is a community call from earlier in the year that Sam Hahn from LAB joined and talked about their putters for an hour or so. Paraphrasing but he said each model from the link, to the mezz, to the max, is one step closer to the putter everyone should use, the DF2.1. For me, I grabbed the max, because it offered the forgiveness in a shape I find appealing

I have the DF2.1 and went with that one because of the size. My favorite putter was the old ping doc17 that was huge and all my other putters have been on the larger size. 

I told my fitter what I liked and didn't like from previous putters and he suggested the DF2.1.

I went with the ACCRA on my Broom and love it!

I went MEZZ because I was not all-in on the DF...I wanted something similar size to my Cameron 11.5 and it was a comfortable leap while being able to stay familiar with my level of trust...

Today as you know, I went MEZZ MAX broom instead of DF because I really have found a level of trust and comfort with the shape.  I am NOT anti-DF...it's like I am on the Bachelor.

LAB has sold 4 putters to people I play with regularly since I have been gaming mine. More and more talk is being generated by these guys playing with them also.

The conversation when I play with my Lab putters has completely changed from "What the hell is that thing?" to "Oh yeah I've seen or tried that and it puts an amazing roll on the ball. I'm thinking about ordering one soon." 

It's amazing how the narrative has changed around the Lab brand and it's awesome to see for them.

I can't really pick the right words to describe how much I am enjoying my Mezz Max Broomstick!  I will say my confidence with a putter has never been higher and that pretty much covers it all.

I just returned from my round today and putted lights out!  12 on the front and 15 on the back for a total of 27. My chipping has been missing in action so it's a good thing my putter is hot.   Shot 38/42 -  80.

Nine 1 - Putts
Nine 2 - Puts

Most of the one putts came from excellent putts just off the fringe for tap-ins.  Still counts as one putt. 

 

Yesterday I should have kept up with my putts but I was taking them for granted.  Shot 39/40 - 79 

 

Today is the 2nd day I have had sub 30 putts per round. Love the Broom!

Sounds like you just need to adopt a Texas wedge going forward....

Unfortunately, I couldn't pull the trigger this time around - manifesting a similar promotion down the road when I'm more in the market for a putter.

It's tough, when there are other non-golf-related items to buy for other people, to see a sale that good and not be able to take advantage  That being said, I would wager they'll do this yearly from now on - enough people know about them and have seen the results, that doing a once-a-year sale is only going to help get people on board.  

I cannot wait to see what else the company has in store - new models, finishes, etc.  Such a cool thing to see it growing the way it is!

Hey, I would have Texas wedged more if I could have!    I had too many I had to get air born over traps, mounds etc..  One thing is for sure I'm having zero issue snugging up shots up to 10 yards off the green from flat lies which surprised me. Although the summer grass has begun to mat down you still have to be able to put a good move on the ball to snug it close.  It would be interesting to see if the DF Broomers had the same results around the green.

I also had to hold off on a new putter as I'm putting together a hitting area in the garage with a good mat and an R10. But now that I have my specs, I am going to watch the outlet side for one in my specs to try out next season to see how I like it. If it all goes according to plan, next season's sale may get myself one spec'd and built to what I want. So all is not lost.

It is interesting that; from my recollection, no one is playing a standard length LAB putter.

I know he is returning from back surgery and from my experience you can practice longer with the broom.  Heck, I go out to my course and practice for an hour + on the putting greens with no issues. I'm surprised he is going with the broom over the armlock which he gamed before back surgery.

Looking forward to your journey with the broom! I was out at my course practicing this morning. No playing just practicing. I spent an hour putting and an hour chipping . When I left the holes on the practice green were smoking. Too much friction from putts going down !
