I'm enjoying it a lot! It's not perfect, but it gives me a lot of information in the areas I want to improve in and it's a good way to validate your swing and learn what your carry yardages can be which is important when you're facing say a 130 yard carry over a water hazard into the green.

In no way, shape, or form am I putting down the Mevo+.  The Mevo’s price was closer to what I could spend.  I’ve found it super helpful so far.  Flight scope has done a great job with it at this price point!

I totally agree, for the price point I don't know if it can be beat. FlightScope did a wonderful job of making a great product for those of us who might be on a budget.

I'm glad you're enjoying it!

Have you tried any of the other range options yet like the comparison to the pros or the range competition? I've found both to be a fun way to spend time in the range. I haven't tried the long drive competition, I don't know what a long drive is, all I do know is it's not the 200 yards I might can hit it. 🤣

I’ve tried the range competition, I loved it.  I’m hoping to set up my hitting net in about two months when the weather changes!  I haven’t used the Mevo whilst hitting into a net yet.

The Journey between the mevo and mevo+ was very well done and thorough by all!

Is the Mevo+ worth the extra costs/features ?

Is there anything negative between the 2 units that would sway you from purchasing them?

Will the Mevo Pro version be even more inclusive and cost worthy?

Looking forward to what comes next!

The question of worth is all relative. For me the ability to play courses makes the upgrade to the plus a no brainer at the extra $1500.

The pro package adds features as does the face impact but they aren’t necessary. You still get the LM and simulator side without them.

My only real complaint is the driver numbers being off. As I mentioned in my review I’m hoping that is just due to where I have the setup right now.

I've caught up on the thread mostly and you are all doing an awesome job with these reviews!

Below is a YouTube video I watched a while back about Mevo+ setup for the most accurate results. Sounds like the RCT balls are key? Maybe it'll help some of you that are having long clubs/driver accuracy issues? The YouTube channel has a handful of videos about the Mevo+ that could be helpful.

I’ll have to watch this after work tonight but I’m already using RCT balls and they do matter. Regular balls get funky ready more often than not

Are you noticing a big difference between RCT and regular golf balls with the metallic sticker?

I did not notice a big difference. Convenience RCT takes the box  but as a whole on the standard MEVO+ (non-pro package) did not see anything that stood out. After the first few sessions I used the RCT exclusively though.

Nothing huge between the 2. The biggest issue is making sure the dot is pointed away from the mevo before you hit.

I can't personally speak to the Mevo+, but the Mevo has been really great for me. It definitely is lacking in some areas, but for the price point it's very hard to beat.

If you're looking for more complete data like Swing Path, Club Path, AOA, etc., you're not going to get that from the regular Mevo. However, if you're just looking for some instant feedback on the range or before a round, I would 100% recommend this to anyone.

I have had some trouble getting data with the driver to be as consistent as with irons, woods off the deck. I would say that's been my biggest complaint.

I got out today after work and hit a small bucket at the range with the Mevo. I will say it wasn't my best ball striking day with the exception of PW, 5 hybrid, and driver. I was falling back into the old habit of falling back. I think I was letting my tempo get a bit fast in the transition along with a flying right elbow.

PW

5HY

I had fun, though and am seeing some positives in my game such as clubhead speed. I'm not blazing fast, but I am seeing it creep up over the time I've been testing the Mevo.

First session:

Screenshot_20240107_150551_FSGolf.jpg.e95024bf9eb421173757d9a0aa79dd08.jpg

Now:

Screenshot_20240214_184057_FSGolf.jpg.8b07540d8acca7611b1b3906a1d253e4.jpg

Side note: the 5 iron and hybrid are the same club, I hadn't changed the designation yet.

The best thing about the Mevo is being able to look at the numbers and see where I can improve. It mostly involves making better contact and I now know to work on slow motion swings focusing on moving low point ahead.

As part of the testing, I am happy to take member requests and did so today with driver. I took 5 shots with my driver at the standard loft of 10.5 and 5 at a lower loft of 9.5.

Screenshot_20240214_184021_FSGolf.jpg.d47ee9836f944312fe61320b75cc2e09.jpg

What I saw today was a minimal increase in distance and decrease in spin.

10.5  176.28 yards at 5067.4 spin

9.5. 177.96 yards at 4737.6 spin

I will mention that this was with a variety of range balls with 6 feet of space between the unit and ball with no metallic dots.

It was a fun day and what I'm learning about my game makes the Mevo a great learning tool.

For anyone/everyone out there looking to buy a Mevo, where are you going to buy it from?

I’d suggest Flightscope themselves.  Unless buying used it’s always smart to go through an authorized dealer especially for any warranty things that may arise.

Wondering if any of you testers, or anyone reading the thread, have noticed that if you go hit ball after ball quality seems to get worse and worse, but if you wait a minute or so between shots (maybe less, but you get the point), the quality stays up there? It's so easy to start just hitting a ton of balls quickly on the sim (or even the range outdoors).  Anyhoo, my golf buddy said he read that the pros purposely take extra time because it happens to some degree to everyone.

Do you mean quality with the launch monitor or quality as in golf shot?

LM doesn't change numbers with a ton of hits. I have found it very accurate.

Now, fatigue will set in with say a large bucket and shots start to fade but slowing down and treating it like you are playing golf keeps the fatigue away.

It's all in how you practice.

Definitely better to take it slow than just pound balls quickly. I never hit more than 3-5 shots when practicing without take a small quick break(no more than a minute). When playing  round by myself I always take the time at the beginning of each hole to think how I wanna play it then re-evaluate after the tee shot.

I wanna be able to hit a groove with my swing but also be able to mimic it on the course. Even playing by yourself with a cart you probably got a good couple minutes between shots.

I’m usually about a shot every 20 seconds or so. By the time it’s done flying and the data spits out that’s about 10 anyway and then resetting the ball so I would say pretty standard. Definitly longer than if I were at the range .

I have a little drill I do in my head sort of a pre shot routine if you will and it helps slow you down and focus. I will hit a shot and watch it until it lands and is done then I back up off the mat and point my club down the target line visualizing where I want to start the ball it takes about 15 secs or so then I slowly get another ball and tee it or not depending on what I'm hitting step behind it again pointing down the line and I take 5 really deep breaths and when I blow out the last I step to address and let it go repeat!!! Anything that works some guys I know where Airpods and have "range music? Not my thing but whatever works as you said to keep yourself from speeding thru a worthless session.

I’ll echo what @Josh Parker mentioned above: the consistency between shots is very accurate. Even after hitting 50 shots with the same club in a row, I didn’t see any issues.

I do recommend taking time between shots in general. Whether that’s at the range, at a simulator, or on the course. I’ve focused on doing my same routine for each and every shot. This helps me (and likely the sim) reset and recalibrate appropriately.

I haven't noticed this, but I'm glad you put out a reminder that I need to slow down a bit. I tend to have a little wait while I'm watching the ball flight then go over and check the Mevo for results. What I'm not doing and need to do is go through my pre shot routine before every shot. I do take a couple of waggles, but don't go through my alignment routine like I should.

I am probably the most inconsiderate of the players in this thread, so my results tend to vary from shot to shot. Last time I went out I warned up with wedges hitting solid partial shots. I hit my PW good after that, but couldn't hit 8 or 7. I hit my 5 hybrid good and then my 5 wood was garbage. I finished off with driver and hit it good.

Good morning!

Today I am going to be taking a deeper dive into the Pro Package with the Mevo+.

These are the additional features that it opens up and as you can see, now you have the ability to track your entire swing.  We already have seen my AOA, but now having the ability to see why my shots are doing what they are doing should be huge to make corrections and add areas of focus on my practice sessions.
