I have managed to get a handful of birdies so far this year and am on a good pace.  I do keep making birdie on the same dang holes though.  Ha

I managed birdie on 17 of 18 holes. The #10 hole for some reason was the hold out. A few weeks ago one of the two bridges was deemed unsafe. So they moved the tees to the other side of the creek. This shortened up the par 4 by 30 yards. 1st time playing from the other side of the creek I made birdie. Finally got all 18 holes birdied this season.
No reason I shouldn’t have did it from the other side this season but It’s golf.

I hit 17 of 18 for 2023.  Hole number 5 and it's not a super difficult hole but for whatever reason it alluded me.  I have already knocked it off the list for this year and have hit a few of the harder holes.

I'm in! First round of the year I had 0 birdies. I did have 7 putts for birdie that were within 20' & one was 6'. I also had 3 putts that were just off the green, but within 30' for birdie. I'm thinking/hoping that once the winter conditions are done I can start flapping my wings! haha

This year I'm  hoping to spread the birdies out a little.  Had  several holes that I birdied several times.  Hoping to expand the 13 birdies to more than 6 different holes.  C'mon baby!  Should be my first round on this course, this Saturday. Going to be 60 something in N/E Ohio.  Need to get off to a fast start.

I was only able to get out for 9 holes on the back nine today and I birdied #16. It was a par 3 that was 170 playing downhill to 162. I hit a 7i to 3.5' and made the putt.

I burnt the edge on three other holes, but couldn't get the birdies to start dropping.

Weather has been REALLY WET, AND CRAPPY, in northeast Ohio so far this year.  Only managed 3 rounds since the first of the year at one of the two courses I keep track of for this.  The birdies were in two different rounds, and both were approaches to 1 foot.  Pretty sure I'm not going to be able to count on this for the other 16.

Need some help from Mother Nature.  Other course FAR to wet to play on so far, as are most others at this point in time here.

I'm using 3 different courses for this challenge and the weather has not been great around here either. One of the courses did finally send out an email that they're going to open on Sunday.

Hoping to start getting a lot more golf in starting soon if the weather cooperates!

I managed two birdies in my 9 hole round yesterday. Would’ve been a pretty disappointing round without them!

Same here in western PA. Might be able to play Tuesday. We are going to be near Cleveland in August to play little mountain, fowlers mills and stoneware. Have you played any of these.

Some add two courses.....

No birdies this past Sunday, but actually quite pleased that in 4 rounds, as crappy as the conditions have been here in N/E Ohio, that I am down to only having only one par to make in just 4 rounds, to close out pars for Erie Shores.

Cleveland in August to play little mountain, fowlers mills and stoneware. Have you played any of these.

I have not played Stonewater.  Little Mountain is about 15 minutes from me, is very nice, and challenging.  Nice elevation changes on a few holes, and the greens should be "quite speedy" in August...  Fowlers Mill is another very nice course.  Little Mountain, and Fowlers mill are two we try to get at least one round a summer in on.  Fowlers I have not played in a couple years, but it is always very nice.

Depending on what you can squeeze in, Manakiki (top 50 rated public course by somebody) is right here as well if you haven't played it.

Love this challenge - added myself to the spreadsheet (thanks @Peaksy68).  I'm going to start with Pars first - shouldnt' be TOO hard of challenge, but don't think 18 Birdies are doable yet.

I currently have 1 more to go and then going to add eagles to the par 5s. Two are reachable for sure, and two have its challenges and everything will need to align just right.

We never played Manakiki I will let the person who puts the trips together know, thanks.

  • 2 weeks later...

Of course more rain this morning here in NE Ohio.  Don't care!  I am getting in my first 18 at my 2nd course  Powderhorn tomorrow.  I need a change, last 11 of 12 local rounds since October of last year have been at Erie Shores, hoping for a couple mud ball birdies!
