Peterpc2828
I had the recoils in my Callaway Apex irons from a few years back, I was 40 and the shafts were awesome! If that's what I get fitted in and it works I could care less what someone else thinks, obviously the tech is getting better when you got guys like Kucher playing Aerotech in his irons. MattF
Ask Theoo about me. I'm getting Recoil 680's in my irons and hybrids. When we were at Golfworks a few weeks ago, they were the best out of the 4 that I hit. $29.99 a shaft isn't too bad considering the distance gains I got, plus, I like a lightweightish shaft. They're 84g raw weight and my FST's are 100g raw. Golfspy_CG2
Good and timely topic for me. I've played Graphite for the past three seasons, Recoil 680 this year in my CF16 Elements Chrome in the D200 irons last year Aerotech SteeFiber in the TM CB's the year before that. However, I just ordered the AP1's with the stock Kuro Kage MRC Tensi shaft, and it might be the worst feeling shaft I've hit in years. I just couldn't get it to work for me. I was 15 to 20 yards shorter side by side with the Recoils. So i bit the bullet and am switching them out for KBS Tour 90's which I had right before the SteelFibers. They are a good weight for me and provide good feedback and kick on my shots. I'm looking forward to seeing the difference in performance. To answer the actual question, I have no predisposition to graphite as you can see, with the exception of the KK, they have worked well for me. revkev
No worries 808 it just came across with a little edge to me and I suspected that wasn't your intent. If it was then go for it!!!! There's nothing wrong with being intentionally edgy Back on topic I had a great conversation with my fitter at the TPC Sawgrass tour performance center about this topic. I had just been fit for steel shafts in my Mizuno irons after having used graphite for 3 years. I was struggling and felt I had been misfit. While he was fitting me for driver and fairway wood he agreed. He believed at that time that we would see between 30 to 40 percent of the guys on your using graphite in about 10 years. I'm surprised at some of the guys who are using it or considering graphite here but it proves his point. I'm amazed at How well graphite performs. I honestly can't tell the difference between the aldila rogues in my irons and a steel shaft. Conversly they are able to make steel very light weight. The only clubs in my bag with steel are my putter and my 60. Sschaffer24
Great topic and one I can relate to. I recently purchased new irons and have a set of Fujikura MCI 80g shafts in them. I was gaming 120g C Tapers before that and with these shafts swing weighted properly for me, the difference in weight really doesn't make a difference in my feel. I had fantastic numbers from these, the feel is dynamite, and they are able to be so fine tuned that I really buy into this segment of the market. I think it's a stigma that doesn't make much sense and I expect it to disappear with time. TS3 8.75 with HZRDOUS Yellow and Black MicroPerf Best Grips.
