Great question!  Stats last night were in the same ballpark as my gamer putter.  I'll have a detailed breakdown in another week or so after some additional testing when I start to write up my final review.

One thing I know for certain; the Array F-2 is a beautiful putter.

I would have to agree, they did a really good job with the shaping of the putters.

How do you think the dual finish looks in real life?  Notice any differences under direct sunlight?

Definitely missing more short with the F-2.  Even on the putts that I have been making I've noticed that they are barely rolling.

The white hot insert typically has the speed of a foot or two of rollout past the hole.  Could just be that I'm not used to the different feel of the F-2 and things will get better with more usage.

I wonder if the firmer feel is making you feel like your hitting it harder than you are?  Just spit balling, because I'm no swing coach! haha

Played in a scramble today with my gamer.  The one thing that I haven't fallen in love yet with the Array is distance control.  The milled face doesn't not have the same soft and responsive feel as my White Hot insert, and I just felt much more comfortable on long lag putts using my gamer.

Next round is schedule for Thursday but I hope to get a few indoor sessions in before then.

I find that really interesting.  I've always been the exact opposite, feeling much better with my distance control with a milled face versus and insert which starts to feel mushy to me.  Odyssey knows what they're doing with the White Hot though, and the recent versions have felt much better to me on that front.

Do you feel like you're missing more long or short while dialing in the control?

  4. I haven't been out on the course yet, but I have some long stretches of carpet in the house that I've been rolling a lot of putts on.

I've found the Mezz.1 max to be just as good on lag putts as my Evnroll was.  It did take a few days of practice to get used to the feeling of no torque, which seems to be a rather common occurrence.  I'd say stick with it a bit longer and focus on those during practice.  If it's not working after that you could pretty easily trade it for something else.

Wow, I may have to start applying for testing opportunities again, but ya know I'm still scarred from that time I applied to test that Callaway driver and @GolfSpy BOS was chosen over me!🙄😅

Must have been a bad dream? I never tested a Callaway driver. 🤣 I did end up buying one because of a test and subsequent testing though…

You must be having flashbacks to #CC4 🫨

That’s fantastic news - hip hip hooray for Lamkin coming through! Although it would’ve been fun to see a Judgement of Solomon (the grip version) shake out.

Re: more chances to win - I’d probably have better luck letting the auto-pick bot handle my team for the remaining majors. I do still have three auto-picks left… hmmm

You’re not alone there. These pools are a good reminder to me of why I need to do the free ones and not gamble any real money. Haha

and yes, Lamkin has been great to work with and loves what our forum is all about!

What’s even more amazing is that @SBB and @Pettitt95 only had a 3 pick overlap and still finished with the exact same score and winnings. Those odds are long.

I’m hoping Lamkin Golf are big Oprah fans - @SBB get grips, @Pettitt95 get grips, DLK gets grips, errbody gets grips!!!! That’s some admittedly pie-in-the-sky hoping, but it seems like the actual winners ought to at least get their due on the photo finish. It’s too close to call.

If not, perhaps there’s enough in the kitty from our whopping $2 entry fee to cover an extra set? Maybe take up a collection? Or even go the Judgement of Solomon route and threaten to cut all the grips in half? That’d be my vote. All I’m certain of is that I do not envy you as arbiter of this situation.

I just confirmed with Lamkin and our two winners, @SBB and @Pettitt95 will both receive a full set of Lamkin swing grips!

Sadly, they only were able to go half-Oprah @downlowkey. BUT, there are more chances to win!! 🤣

The Masters proved to be a pretty brutal week for the pick’em league. More war of attrition than birdie bonanza.

Congrats to @Pettitt95 _and_ @SBB on the win - the only 2 teams to finish under par (-1).

They had different teams but finished at the same score total and winnings.

Presumably @GolfSpy BOS is going let us know soon whether they both won a set of Lamkin grips or will be facing off in a double tie breaker coin flip.

Another signature event this week for the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links, so the big names are in town. With Meredith in the baby red zone, ride the Scheffler heat at your own peril. Good luck errbody!

I'm thinking on this one, it's quite amazing that we only had TWO people end up under par.  I thought I had a dang good team going into it too!

For this review, I want to do the Good, Bad, the Inbetween

First, the Good. The new TaylorMade Qi10 Standard is a quantum leap from what I had in my hands before, which was the TaylorMade R-15. The R-15 feels like a brick on a stick compared to the Qi10. I’m actually a couple of miles per hour faster with the Qi10. The 60xCarbon Twist Face has saved my bacon on more than one occasion. Where we play, the fairways are lined with olive trees for the most part. Once in there, it is like a one-stroke penalty. Off-center shots are generally guided back on line.

Next up is the Bad. The Qi10 Standard would be a shade better if it came with an Open/Closed/Neutral adjustment for the face. I like the look of the more closed face when at address. Hey, I had to find something to gripe about.

Now for the Inbetween. The Qi10 Standard is as basic as you can get as far as the head/hosel adjustments go. Nothing fancy. Just your basic Higher/Lower loft settings. I didn’t find that the Qi10’s adjustments made any difference on the flight except for the height. In my area where there is a fairly constant 10-15 mph wind, the Lower setting did produce a bit more penetrating ball flight. It didn’t make much difference, for me at least, on the left/right flight of the ball.

For this section, I’d give the TaylorMade Qi10 an 18 out of 20.

Take a look at this adjustment chart, it is from the SIM, but it works the same way for all TM drivers using that adapter:

    image.png

You'll notice that all of the "higher" side of the adapter will close the face.

Looking forward to reading the rest of your complete review!

  10. It's #13 and it's not even close.  I feel like this hole has a little bit of all the best parts of Augusta in it.  The sloping fairway, the risk/reward second shot, that creek in front of the green, and a green that allows for some long and bendy putts but overall doesn't seem too unfair.  I can't think of a better way to get the most of our my Augusta experience than playing #13 if I can only play one.

That being said... if there's no stroke limit, I'll just "miss" into the next fairway quite a few times and see how much of the course I can see!

  11. Terra Forza Driver Shaft Review - BOS edition

    image.png

We’re back for another BOS edition review!  This time I am fortunate to be able to put the Terra Forza White+ Driver Shaft through its paces to see just how different the Terra Forza fitting process is, and if the results back up their claims.  Terra Forza believes that swings are "built from the ground up" and find that to be the most important aspect of fitting.  How you use the ground will impact which Terra Forza shaft you fit into.  The shafts have no traditional flex or weight rating marked on them, and you're not supposed to think about these shafts that way.  But more on that later!

    IMG_8675.jpeg

For those of you who don’t know me; Hi!  I’m Bryan, or as I’m better known around these parts, GolfSpy BOS.  That's me in the photo above and I’m a 36 year old single digit handicap with hopes and dreams of getting to scratch and about 1/18th the time required to put in the practice to do so.

When I’m not golfing or dreaming of golfing I can most likely be found on some youth sports field or carting one of my three wonderful children around to some activity.  Thankfully, my oldest has already taken to the sport and my other two have shown interest as well!  So, It seems I will have some built in golf-buddies for life.

In regards to the current state of my driving game; it's just OK.  I wouldn't say it was good or bad, but I know there room for serious improvement in consistency if nothing else.  Here's a current view of my Arccos stats:

    IMG_9829.jpeg IMG_9830.jpeg

Distance is fine, a little down from my best numbers, but I know that will return with a great focus on fitness.  The bigger issue is that I am currently fighting some wayward shots and miss equally in all directions.  I'd like to see the fairway hit % rise, and just generally see if I get in more of a groove with the Terra Forza shaft versus my gamer the Fujikura Motore X F3 6x.

    Much more to come!
