Detroit Tigers amazing streak now at 33-11 since Aug 11.  With a sweep of the Rays, and Twins struggling to find a way to lose last night vs Marlins, finally found the answer with reliever Blewett.  Tigers magic number now 1 with the 39-120 White Sox coming to town. But stranger things have happened….

Went out with my daughter very late last night, or very early morning depending upon how you look at time to view and take some pictures of Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights, as they will now shift farther north and not be so visible in North America after Tuesday.

This year has been an exceptional year to view them from this far south.

I will post pictures which were taken from 12:53AM until 1:35AM and try to show how they went from light to dark, then back to light again.

The aurora borealis, or northern lights, are best seen from August to early April and experience peak visibility in October, November and April. The lights can appear as patches of glowing light in the sky or swirling lights that appear to be pink, blue, green, yellow and purple. The lights are caused by the interaction between the Earth's magnetic field and particles from the sun that enter the Earth's atmosphere at its magnetic poles. When particles collide, they can return to a lower energy state and release colorful light particles known as aurorae.

Absolutely unbelievable!  I want to get the kids up that way to see them this next year.

@Josh Parker the information below came from my daughter earlier today, but it may give you some ideas for planning on making a trip north.

Typically, here in MIchigan, for us to see them usually would involve a trip to our upper peninsula towards Lake Superior.

This year has been an exception, where they also were prevalent in the southern area of our lower peninsula.

Funny, she is currently texting me to see if we can go out again tonight........................... 

Tonight they say it would be much more difficult to see them, as they moved north, and I told her to check back with me after the 11:00PM news.

I love the Northern Lights.  Got to see them in Oregon before we left, goal of the wife and I is to go to Alaska and stand in them. Sure do miss seeing those, I was lucky enough to live about 3/8 of a mile from Lake Superior (or unlucky depending on who you ask) but we got to see them quite often.

My daughter today told me she wants to go to Boston for college.  I am not sure what to think about that honestly.  Aside from Harvard, MIT, BC, and Amhearst I am not familiar with anything there.  Those are the Universities she wants to apply to, besides MIT… The acceptance rates are very, very, very low, and the cost if very, very, very high.  Told her to apply, because why not?  If you don’t try you definitely wont get accepted.  I am just going to have to sell some organs to be able to pay for it.

Whats she interested in studying? Northeastern and BU have some great programs, plus incredible hockey scenes at both schools.

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday.  It’s raining now and looks like Milton will be ashore later today.  Helped new neighbors across the street getting their house secured, he had a stroke so it’s difficult for him, wife hides in the house.  Going to have to keep an eye on them.  Everyone else in neighborhood is ready I guess now it’s a waiting game.  Looking around yesterday and there’s an awful lot of big palm trees on our street, not liking that very much.
Hope everyone in FL stays safe this storm looks to be a big one.

Wow! Amazing! It’s such a pity I missed that, but I guess there’s always something good around the corner. I just booked some tickets on tickpick for an event I’ve been dreaming about for a long time, and I can’t wait for it to happen. The excitement of seeing one of my favorite artists live is just unbeatable! It feels like a dream come true, and I’m already counting down the days. It’s great to have something to look forward to, especially after missing out on other opportunities.

With it turning much cooler and wetter here lately, and some trees and bushes already bare, not sure how long this fall season's color change may stick around.

These are for @Josh Parker as I know he loves seeing them. Taken a little while ago from outside the house after the morning rain dried up.

Picture 1 & 2 I am standing on front lawn looking towards the north, trying to show the various colors typically seen during fall season here.

Picture 3, standing on front lawn looking east, thing to notice is the leaves already on the ground, and the bare trees in the background. Hoping it is another 3-4 weeks before everything is bare.

Is it just me or have we seen more of the aurora borealis this year than ever down south? I can’t ever remember seeing them before this year and now I have 2 times.
