This is the story of Old Tom Morris (Jr and Sr) and it's the next golf movie being released on the big screen. After watching the trailer I'm definitely intrigued. I wondered what the bow and arrow was about? Possibly laying out a course-measuring distances? I didn't care all that much for that last one that came out... what was it called? Seriously - well done movie - it certainly seems like they had a certain amount of authenticity for the golf scenes, and there was enough of a love story/family drama to keep my wife entertained. She liked it very much. Good date night outing, IMO. The story is excellent and the condition relative to the time period is fantastic but the movie is kind of clumsy in transition of time. Well worth the time investment, however. The book goes into greater detail of the contributions the Morris's made to the game. Especially the section concerning the original 13 rules of golf. The movie does a pretty good job at mentioning several of those contributions. It's not just a golf movie, it's a movie centered around a golf family. They spent most of the movie focusing on his relationship with his wife and all of that controversy, and gave you very little golf scenes. I came away sort of like, "meh". Just my worthless two cents though.
