GCSAA Supt
Hi again everyone, Jim, the retired Golf Course Superintendent from Massachusetts. For some reason I couldn't access my old account so I started a new one with a gmail address that I only use to give out for sales pitches. I repeatedly emailed this site and explained a couldn't get on my old account and never go a response....there for a new handle GCSAA Supt. I had the wonderful experience of serving on the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America's Board of Directors and was elected President in 2010. I'm retired now and enjoying golf, photography, and grandkids! And what I'm really enjoying now are me new Titleist AP3 irons!! The Project X 5.5 give me a bit lower ball flight than the KBG shafts I had and I love the feel and responsive nature of these irons. Do yourself a favor and try these babies out!! TheWahoo
Welcome back. A GCSAA member is a great friend to have. I had such a good friend, while it was mostly on Mondays, we played some area courses which I would have had no chance of getting to play on my own. GCSAA Supt
Kenny, I'm sure I'll contribute when golf course management issues come up in these forums...over 40 years experience in maintenance and construction. Actually worked with Tom Fazio before he was famous! to The Wahoo....professional exchanges of playing courtesy has been wonderful. I've had the chance to play many of the top 100 courses and other fine venues. My favorites 1. Pine Valley, 2 Baniff Springs in Alberta Canada, and 3 Teeth of the Dog in the Dominican and 4. Pinehurst #2. (played before the restoration) Here in Massachusetts my favorite is Taconic GC at Williams College, the Orchards in Hadley Ma. (that course is directly responsible for many poor grades in college as they let many of the UMass Tuft students play for free...) .and of course The Country Club in Brookline. Others here include Kittansett, Winchester, and I love the Jones course at Pine Hills. My problem is that there are too many golf courses and not enough days!! Golfspy_CG2
Welcome (back) Jim! Great to have you on board. Working at a course, I thoroughly enjoy having coffee every morning with our Super and learning all sorts of things--although for me it's my morning coffee, for him it's more like his lunch break with how early he gets here!!
