Kneeling Rock back

Recommended Posts

I have been doing this exercise for a while yet and have not seen any benefits (ie-increases in range of motion), but i do have a bigger shoulder turn as a result of many different exercises.

Is there any spy out there that has heard of this exercise or performs it?

Looks like one of those things where you really must be guided by a certified (movement) trainer .. to me, looks all too easy to do something wrong and possibly do some damage....

My PT gave me a few different exercises and stretches to work on loosening and stretching the spine, and increasing its range of motion. They're all simpler, ie not "combo", movements.

If you're doing this, please pay *very close* attention to the specific posture that the trainer has the guy get in to, and the specific sequence, too.

yes.

thanks for the comment.

anything to do with the back in am very careful with.

I am contemplating not doing this as with probably what you mentioned. not doing it correctly and hence not seeing the benefits / no results.

thanks CK.

Yeah a big advantage of working with a trainer is that they can correct you when you're not in the right position. My PT guy - just like my golf instructor - is very insistent about using proper form. Unfortunately most of us have a poor kinesthetic sense, eg. an awareness of exactly the way our bodies are oriented (exceptions include people like gymnasts, ice skaters, ballet dancers).

I haven't looked at it but a lot of people recommend checking out TPI for golf-specific exercises.
