Better approach/chipping proximity? New putter. My previous putter was a top flite with not much forgiveness. I switched to the mallet I have now and it helped a ton. On top of that. The new club I joined in February has insanely fast greens compared to what I was used too. So I chalk some of that improvement up to just getting used to those greens and being able to read them better throughout the summer. My chipping is still pretty pitiful but GIR proximity has definitely gotten better so there is that as well. EDIT: So many typos, sorry guys, I corrected them. Was typing this response as I pulled out of the garage last night and never looked at it again until this morning. It's going to be strange to have a round without a specific weekly challenge to meet.It ended up costing me points but I played several rounds without Arccos. If I had a money game on the line, I couldn’t concentrate with me phone in my pocket, always checking to see if it recorded the shot or not. I would always make sure I had a couple of rounds in that week for whatever challenge we had, after that, I may or may not use Arccos. Bad thing is, I shot my best round ever using caddie for every shot , all but 6 of them. Popular Post robertson153
Ok ladies and gents, my final thoughts, for now. I knew this was going to be a big time commitment going in, let me just say, it’s a huge commitment. There is a lot of things to do, think about, and write about. It’s not as easy as “get new clubs, play a few times, tell everyone what you think”. I really enjoyed every moment of this challenge, from the hecklers to the competitors, it was all great. Now on to the good stuff. Here are my pre-cobra stats. I was actually pretty pleased with my stats at this point. The driving and approach was what I was wanting to improve the most. Here are the final results after the 8 weeks. As you can see every category dropped significantly, with the exception of driving . Let’s just face it, I suck something terrible with the big dog. That is definitely something I have to work on in the off season. I also had a lot of personal best, 22 of them bad boys. The one I’m most proud of is the fastest round. That was during the four club challenge. I was playing by myself, well the wife rode with me, and not another single person on the course. It helped when you only have 4 choices . I’m pretty bummed that all this is over. I’ll always check on this thread before I do anything else. Before I forget have to give a huge thank you to MGS, Cobra golf, and Arccos. There were several good candidates to choose from, and I feel extremely lucky to be considered for this. I want to close by saying the Cobras have a 100% guaranteed spot on this guys cart. From driver to 58* to the bag. My expectations were pretty high for Cobra, and they did not disappoint one bit. If anyone is considering a new set of sticks, please, please give Cobra a shot. Sorry I don’t post a lot of memes or gifs, it’s just not my style. Thank you to all the competitors, and Enrique for keeping me in line this summer, it’s a tough job, or so my wife tells me . Popular Post STUDque
And that's a wrap! We've reached the end. It's certainly bittersweet but I hope you all have enjoyed the competition throughout the summer. Special thanks to last year's group for blazing the train as we were able to use many of the lessons learned to benefit this year's challenge. Let's get a round of applause for our competitors who stuck it out the whole season! Alright. Let's wrap up the final results. For the overall category, the competitors were ranked based on their results throughout the whole challenge. This is where that hard work pays off in a measurable game improvement. It's a lot to describe so here's a table of everything that went into it: The overall category is worth 2 weeks value so it's not one to take lightly. With the late season surge, @robertson153 managed to jump over @bardle and make his way into the winner's circle. The two constants at the top remained as is with @Nunfa0 in 2nd and @Bucky CC as your champion. @Bucky CC won this challenge with consistent excellence as he only failed to place in one week of the entire challenge. It should be noted that he and @revkev BOTH put up amazing scores for the 4 club challenge but were overcome by lower net rounds. Everyone shot hot fire that week. Here's how the season played out: This leaves us with the following prizes: @Bucky CC Head to toe PUMA makeover (hat, shirt, pants/shorts, and shoes) PLUS a special trophy. I don't have artwork at this time, but Cobra is developing a special Euro License plate for Bucky's trophy case that signifies to all of his guests that he is the #CCC3 CHAMPION @Nunfa0 Wins the combined forum member prizes as he brings home a PUMA Hat, Shirt, and Shoes @robertson153 Can now match his fellow "Blue Blood" teammate @fozcycle with a PUMA Hat and Shirt And.....one final prize. The forum member GRAND PRIZE. 1600+ posts is a lot to go through so I called in the rest of the staff for their opinions. As a group, we came to the conclusion that the following member has earned the F9 SpeedBack Driver + Arccos due to the quantity and quality of posts to go along with the sheer stamina of participating in this thread, day by day, from start to finish. Congratulations @JohnSmalls !!!!!!!! Thanks again to everyone that participated to make this challenge the best test anyone could desire. I hope you all found it informative as well as entertaining. YOU are what makes this challenge so interesting. From MGS, a SUPER SPECIAL thanks goes to COBRA, PUMA, and Arccos for enabling this ground-breaking test. Hope we see you all back next year!!! With the late season surge, robertson153 managed to jump over bardle and make his way into the winner's circle. The two constants at the top remained as is with Nunfa0 in 2nd and Bucky CC as your champion. Bucky CC won this challenge with consistent excellence as he only failed to place in one week of the entire challenge. It should be noted that he and revkev BOTH put up amazing scores for the 4 club challenge but were overcome by lower net rounds. Everyone shot hot fire that week. Here's how the season played out: This leaves us with the following prizes: Bucky CC Head to toe PUMA makeover (hat, shirt, pants/shorts, and shoes) PLUS a special trophy. I don't have artwork at this time, but Cobra is developing a special Euro License plate for Bucky's trophy case that signifies to all of his guests that he is the #CCC3 CHAMPION Nunfa0 Wins the combined forum member prizes as he brings home a PUMA Hat, Shirt, and Shoes robertson153 Can now match his fellow "Blue Blood" teammate fozcycle with a PUMA Hat and Shirt And.....one final prize. Congratulations JohnSmalls !!!!!!!! Finally, to you data heads.
