sirchunksalot
@Preeway @cnosil I just heard back from ShotScope, I am impressed they got back with me so fast and that's great customer service. They didn't mention that you could use manual tracking with the Connex, so I'm assuming it's not an option. They did offer to send me a new putter tag to replace the one I lost and I'll be immediately gluing it on my putter. sellemental
I use the V3 and switched to manual putting fairly early on, and have never looked back. Manual mode eliminates all of the issues related to the tag, more accurately, having to move or secure it between different putters and/or grips. Simply update your bag and done. If you truly cannot use manual putt mode with the Connex, that is a bit disappointing for those users. This will be my 3rd year using it, and I've had 2 of the sensors break all ready this year. One I discovered cleaning my clubs and is lost, the other when I tried to remove it and the peg just twisted off. SS is sending replacements and assures me there is no reason to be concerned about any of the other tags, but I guess we'll see. If you do want to continue to use Auto mode, make sure the putter tag is recognized, especially if you choke down or use lead-hand low. Then, maybe take a couple of exaggerated practice strokes first. It looks silly to do that with tap-ins, and more than likely those will be recorded as 2-foot putts anyway. John Marchetto
Not sure if this is the right place, I’m fairly new at this, but I wanted to give ShotScope customer service 10 stars. I got an X5 on March 18, which performed flawlessly as a GPS device out on the course and the scoring was easy to enter/verify and shot/putt tracking seemed to work fine. However, I had major problems with the device syncing so I could see and analyze my performance stats. Lee in customer service worked with me for about a week via email (they’re in Scotland time difference). We tried everything possible. I sent iphone screen videos for him to look at so he could see what was actually happening. He took the time to review and offer fixes. So it appears there is a problem with the watch Bluetooth connectivity. ShotScope made the return/replace process a breeze and even refunded the return shipping within an hour of me sending it from the post office. They surely stepped up to back their product and I would highly recommend ShotScope for this reason alone. When comparing products I went with the ShotScope over Arrcos because of the no subscription. Can’t wait to get the replacement. tony@CIC
Question for you power users: I had to set up the tees on the app for our sister course which I play on a rare occasion - no problem in setting up the different tee boxes. However, when I start the X5 (gps & tracking) only the white tee box comes up. Yes I have sync'd the course. Am I missing something or should I get SS tech support involved? Oh and FYI, yes I did read the manual and I didn't see any reference to this issue. Northern Monkey
I don’t think it makes much difference as the X5 will track from where it syncs with the club so this will show as where you tee’d from. I think part of the reason for not listing different tee locations as well is because these can change from day to day. I know at my club the tee boxes are quite large and the difference between locations for the yellow tees say can at times but 10 yards MIGregB and CudaKota66 2 Quote Driver: G430 Max Fairway: LTDx Max 3 wood Hybrid: Mavrik 3 hybrid Irons: Mavrik 4-AW, Wedges: Jaws MD5 50 and 56 wedges Putter: Mallet Ball: Chrome Soft
John Marchetto
I had the same issue too. I added the blue tees and only the white showed up on the X5. I agree that the X5 shows the yardage from where you actually hit. I was waiting for my sync issue to be resolved before I looked into the effect. My theory was that the other tees would play into the performance analysis but I didn't dive that far into the SS app. MIGregB 1 Quote Take it back and let it go

The reason it is there with the X5 is that you can choose to keep score with the X5. As long as the par for each hole is correct, and is the same as from whatever set of tees you do actually play from, that is all that matters. If you don't use scoring, it doesn't matter either, obviously. Typically, having a set of tees you play from not being shown only presents a problem for the women, as some holes may not be the same par as from the tees the men play. MIGregB
It looks like the question of whether it's important to be able to select the tee box you're actually playing has been well covered. Just adding my $.02, if Shot Scope ever added Handicap tracking to their amazing suite of features, then the actual tee box would be very important. I no longer carry an official USGA handicap; I just don't have a use of it other than my own knowledge (my league does their own highly modified version). So I also use SwingU, which does calculate handicap even on their free account. But that means I still have to manually input rounds which is a bit of a pain. The only thing SwingU doesn't include in their calculation is weather. But considering that was only recently added by the USGA after about a hundred years of not using it, I'm good with the number it gives me. nupezb
Potential Firmware Issue Alert! @Gavin_Shot_Scope For the second consecutive time, I've encountered a technical issue with my X5 device. My home course features three separate 9-hole courses, and today, after completing my front nine, I inadvertently selected the wrong course for the back nine. Despite quickly rectifying this mistake, I observed an unusual delay in loading. To address this, I decided to end the round and start a new one, ensuring I selected the correct course. Upon uploading my round, I expected to see two separate 9-hole rounds, which I intended to request to be combined into an 18-hole round through customer service. However, only the back nine was displayed, and it seemed to have been partially uploaded twice, with one upload containing holes 1-7 and the other containing holes 6-9. This experience is reminiscent of a similar incident from last week. However, while I initially suspected user error, I am now confident that this issue was not caused by me. Although I trust that customer service can restore my round (I have already emailed them about this issue), I can't help but wonder if there may be a firmware issue at play here. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? That happened to me a month or two ago. I just figured it was operator error vs a watch issue. Let us know what SS says.
