Pressure boards

Anyone use them and see the benefits? I’ve seen a few online and like supporting the inventors but the cost is pretty high. I ask since I know my low point has moved farther back due to swing changes and I want something for feed back to know I am shifting more to my lead side.

Are you thinking like a pressure plate, or something like the downunder board? I would imagine for just seeing if you move your weight tough to beat the salted smart insoles that MGS tested a while back, https://sports.salted.ltd/en/product/smart-insole, Should provide some feedback without breaking the bank.

Thought of those but not for $200. Was thinking similar to the DUB. More like the whygolf pressure plate or the sheftic pressure plate. Basically a board that you balance on and then shift back on backswing and then lead side to start downswing.

For something like this, I might suggest DIY'ing something to see if you like the feedback. Some 3/4" plywood or 1x12 and a piece of 1/2" square trim you could probably fabricate a prototype for test use.

For example, while I like my DownUnderBoard, I'd probably recommend just buying a square cake pan or cardboard box for those interested in trying it out.

The dub can be made diy and it’s how Bradley Hughes did his teaching with it for years before it turned into the dub and sold. The dimensions of the dub are all that’s needed to cut a piece of plywood.

Yes it’s beneficial but also like any training aid the effectiveness only comes from proper use and if it is an aid that addresses a flaw in the swing.

I’d make one, basically 10 minutes DIY.  One of my prior coaches recommended I make one and use it as part of some dry land drills to work on pressure shifting.

The real question is what is the issue that is trying to be addressed. The dub does the opposite of what your coach teaches in regards to pressure shifts.

Weight shift forward to move up low point. His pressure board giveaway is what poked my interest

The pressure board that cnosil posted is probably a better training aid for what you are trying to do.

Yep did my own DIY very much like this one a few years back, after an instructor had me stand on his during a lesson.

So yeah it is helpful to have the pro guidance to know exactly what to look for during your swing!

This board was REALLY helpful to me and I'll still .. occasionally .. get back on it for a few swings now and then. Talk about training feedback!

I basically did the same except was too lazy and didn't fully commit. I used a 2x6 board and laid it across a piece of trim that was 1" wide and 1/4" thick so the 2x6 can rock from side to side.

You use what you have;  these two pieces were in my scrap wood pile.
