Especially when you can't possibly beat the quality without going all the way to a ProV1 or V1x.  Nothing else on the market is equivalent that I've tested on the course or the simulator.  I have yet to test the newest TP5 balls, but other than that, the rest of the premium balls on the market are a distant 3rd behind the ProV1/V1x (at #1) and the Maxfli Tour/TourX (at #2) for the overall combo of driver / iron / wedge / putter performance.  Doing the Toura build and review process, I've spent a ton of time on the simulator the past month or so, and the Maxfli balls hold up to hundreds of shots and impacts against the screen in a testing session and still look new.  The Chrome Tour X, Bridgestone Tour B X, and Srixon Z Star all looked worn out before I finished the short irons.  I need to actually go back and spend some more time doing hard data analysis on whether to stick with the Tour or Tour X option from Maxfli, but unless someone's giving me ProV1 / V1x balls to play, I'm not spending my money on anything but the Maxfli Tour balls.

I 100% concur with this. I found the tour X is slightly faster off the driver than the tour by 1-2 mph and hence am only using the tour X now. I play more rounds on GSPro than I do outside so the durability is also a big deal for me. I normally rotate 3-6 balls while playing on my simulator so not to hit the same ball twice in a row and this seems to help with the durability as well.

I just saw on the Golf Galaxy site that they are running a limited time golf ball sale on their Maxfli balls.  Their Tour series, normally $40 per dozen are now $64.99 for two dozen.  That includes the novelty balls with standard graphics and personalized printed balls.  Their SoftFli line of balls that run $20-$22 per dozen are now $30 for two dozen.  

I have too many golf balls already, but I have an expiring Dick's Sporting Goods $10 award and the pricing is too good to ignore.
