Holy s*** I love Dead Guy!

Buddy and I killed a bottle last year at Bandon Dunes.

Enjoy that Kenny :)

I have always liked the ale, but until today I didn't know they made spirits.  I must say it is quite tasty.  I am not much of a connoisseur and the orange aroma and vanilla finish were lost on me, but the malt and oak is certainly there.  I'm not sure what it is, but I thought it had one initial taste followed by something slightly different after it went down.  Quite unusual.  Enjoyable.

Nice day today so I was going to play golf. I was on the putting green when my phone alarm went off reminding me of a Dr. appt. Crap! No golf! The Dr. says the same thing every visit: Lose weight, do your stretches. So then I went to the store for booze. I said to myself... Self, try something new. What?? Then I saw it. Rogue Dead Guy Whiskey. I am fond of Rogue Dead Guy Ale, so why not?

attachicon.gifIMG_0658 (1).jpg

Tasting notes: Dead Guy Whiskey has a fresh orange citrus aroma with a delicately sweet, rich malt complex. Medium-bodied, flavors of oak and honey give way to a clean vanilla finish.

I'll let you know.

I love Rogue dead guy ale. Their spirits aren't bad either, I picked up a bottle of their gin a few years back and it was pretty good. My local Rogue brewery pub used to do tiki tuesdays where if you came in with a Hawaiian shirt you got a free pint--it was great but then too many people found out about it so they had to stop .

I am not a gin guy.  I might have to try some of Rogues other spirit offerings.

Pink spruce gin is a solid choice from them if you like lots of botanicals in your gin. Killer with tonic or soda.

And obligatory st pats beer

Copious amounts of Budweiser. $15.00 for all you can eat and drink at the monthly fish fry (stag) with my buddy.

No Bud for me.  I can drink one, but Bud is the only beer I have had that gives me a headache after the second one.  I'm with OG, Miller Lite if I'm drinking cheap.

A Yenda Unfiltered Lager, pretty tidy, serious style Lager while in the pool (a late season hot day here, got to 95)

Now a glass of Tahbilk Marsanne 2016, very good crisp dry white, a bit too young, but its leftover from cooking up mussels last night.

I'll finish with Hoddles Creek Pinot Noir 2013 with my Weber roasted pork loin. It should go a treat, one of the best value Pinot's in Aus.

I'm a Shiner Bock drinker in a town that worships Yuengling.

If I'm going for something stronger, I'm partial to Glenmorangie.

I'm not a Shiner fan but, Yuengling is waaay over hyped. When we finally got it in Ohio a few years ago, it was the rage. I finally bought a six to see what it was about. To me, it's just glorified Budweiser.... and I honestly like Budweiser better!

I bet that Miller Lite lasted about 30 seconds.  Mine would.
