Snuck on for a cold, wet, windy round but considering the conditions, this was probably one of my better rounds this year. It was a struggle but the only real blunder I had was on the first hole. Maybe next time I warm up a bit before taking that first tee shot lol

I gave up on tacking shots this round. It was too cold and I wasn't getting any distance - especially into the wind. The only decent drive I recoded was maybe 250-260 with the wind behind me.

This week’s SIM round takes us to lovely and scenic Yellowstone golf club in Montana. There’s something about the beauty and challenge of mountain courses. Drove well and with several significantly elevated tees as long as you hit the fairway the ball would roll and roll and roll some more. Several drives over 300 yards. Javs you would have hit it 400 yards on some of the downhill holes on this course. All in all, a very good round.

Played a SIM round on the MLM2Pro at the home course, Majestic Springs, as preparation for an actual round I am going to play tomorrow. Let us hope I can meet or exceed this on the actual course. If so, it will be a great day

3 rolled 3 birds in a row then an eagle. Missed a 2 footer for bird a couple later and one of the guysbplaying with me said, you were too close. Yanked my next approach shot left about 40 feet from the cup, rolled it on and back out 180 around the rim .  Made a couple more par saves from outside 10 feet. One of those days. 70+ degrees, sunshine...and long putts dropping like ... well I'll leave the example to your individual imaginations.

After a pretty lengthy layoff, this result speaks volumes to the benefit of playing daily SIM rounds. 

31 putts, which for me is a pretty good day with the flat stick, including a 32 footer for birdie on 6. Really digging this LAB Mezz1.Max.

Driver was behaving today with a couple of 300+ yard drives, including this one:

All in all, today felt pretty good.

A trip to the emergency room on Christmas evening has resulted in scheduling minor surgery for mid next week.  As a result, I'll be away from the golf course for a couple weeks.  I'm expecting a quick recovery and posted scores by week 41.  

It's a ****** getting old!  Then again, it certainly beats the alternative!

To echo @GolfSpy_APH,  season 3 will begin around the time of the Masters, but you are welcome to start posting scores as soon as you are ready. This season we have had 220+ participants. Some post multiple rounds a week, others haven’t post since the summer. The beauty of the VCT is that all are welcome and you can post rounds in any given week without feeling like you have to.

It was very windy again today, and I didn’t have best ball striking or putting. However, 7 chips and pitches to tap in range made a huge difference in what I shot and what I may have deserved to shoot.

Apparently, I had a lot, and I do mean a lot, of unused bad putts that expired at the end of the year so I had to use them all today. I have been averaging 27 putts per round since May, and today I had 41 putts. 

I did however make 1 putt for a 2 on a par 3. I did fortunately put $20 in the Deuce Pot today and didn’t really care how poorly I played. I got my share of the $440 pot today.

15 rounds posted this week, which is a pretty good turnout given the holidays and general time of the year regarding weather. Hopefully everyone had a nice holiday and got some goodies that will help their games as we drive into the home stretch of season 2!
