Shankster
So, I noticed something today... when I swing like an absolute animal with the driver it goes straight. If I baby it at all who knows where it is going. I’m talking 110% full out and some swing gets the best launch and performance. my guess is the ill fitted 460cc bubble attached to a stick... so I’m just going to step on it full time now. All gas. What gives? GolfSpy MPR, TR1PTIK, GolfSpy BOS and 5 others
cnosil
My guess would be timing and sequencing all work correctly when swinging full. The question I would ask is why try to go less than full? StrokerAce
probably a tempo thing - ratio of backswing to downswing. once you change that the face/path can get all over the place. GolfSpy AFG
18 hours ago, Shankster said: That settles it. I’m swinging for the fences every time I step on the course... Just to pile on, in a Hack it Out Golf podcast from a little while ago, I think the subject was how far tour players really hit it or something to that effect, Scott Fawcett (with full agreement from Mark Crossfield) opined that Greg Norman saying he scaled his swing back to 90% effort or DJ saying he scales it back to 85% effort was kind of BS in his opinion...that at the end of the day your playing speed is your playing speed and it's really not possible to effectively take something off your speed for the sake of control. In other words, it might feel like you've lessened your intent a bit but the actual playing speed that you produce is still going to be remarkably close to an all-out effort. Hack it Out Golf is really good but that particular episode was very informative. (I'll come back with an edit later when I find the episode number.) Whether you agree or not, all the more reason to swing away! fixyurdivot
A video clip of the swing and valid ID please... still operating on the "trust but verify" from the recent abduction attempt . Makes no sense to me based on my "swing out of my shoes" attempts and results. Tempo is the absolute key to my best ball striking, throughout the bag. Like most, I do tend to lean into drives for that extra distance but try hard to focus on tempo. But if swinging all out works for you, stay with it until the results or your body dictates otherwise. tony@CIC and Shankster 1 1 Quote G410 Plus, 9 Degree Driver G400 SFT, 16 Degree 3w G400 SFT, 19 Degree 5w ZX5 Irons 4-AW Glide 2.0 56 Degree SW (removed from double secret probation ) ER5v Putter (Official Review) AI-One Milled Seven T CH (Official Review)

Jmikecpa
My pro from years ago gave me sage advice on my swing. There is not swing fault you can’t fix by swinging harder. In a serious note I had the same issue hitting a bunt cut driver. I starter just choking down on the driver and still going after it. Too many issues when I try and steer it.
