CFreddie's WITB (2023)

Relatively new MGS member, but I'm already a huge fan of this community.  

 

For my 100th post (!!!), I thought I'd share my WITB, so without further ado....here we go!

 

Driver: Callaway Epic Max 10.5 (fitted to this a couple years ago, still one of the best clubs in my bag)

3W: Titlest 913F 15° (my only holdover, this was a hand me down from my dad - would love to replace this soon since its the worst club in my bag)

3H: Callaway Epic SuperHybrid 18° (my newest club, still getting used to it but its a pretty effortless club to hit well)

Driving Iron: Srixon ZX Utility 20° (fitted to this a couple years ago, incredibly versatile but not the easiest to hit)

Irons: Callaway Apex 5I - AW (my game is starting to grow out of these, but will suffice for the time being)

54°: Callaway Jaws Full-Toe in Black (absolutely love the versatility of this wedge around the green)

58°: Callaway Jaws Raw in Black (normally used for sand / lob shots, but a great option around the green as well)

Putter: Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5.5 (my favorite club in the bag, putting used to be the worst part of my game...now its the best)

Totally fair - as you can tell, I def like to play my options!

Completely forgot to update this - TONS of changes to the bag (thanks in huge part to MGS and the Cobra Challenge). As you can see, the only remaining clubs from my last WITB were my trusty Jaws and Scotty X5.5 (although it’s a bit worried with my forays into the LAB). 

At the top of my bag, I’ve replaced the Epic with the Paradym, complete with a Ventus TR Blue.  My FWs are the Aerojet Max 3 and 7 with Hzrdus Blue shafts. Rounding out the woods is the King Tec 5H with KBS TGI shaft (my favorite club in the bag). 

On to the irons, I switched out my Apex’s with the Cobra Forged Tecs, which have thoroughly impressed over the last year. 
 

Final item outstanding is a driver headcover - the Paradym one is horrendous!

7w was from Tobacco Road

Hybrid is from the No Laying Up merch store!

I forgot that was the NLU logo! 

So so far you like the paradym better than the Aerojet?

Honestly, this was one of the toughest decisions.  The AJ driver is great - good distance and forgiveness all around, but I had some issues with ballooning (it was very high launching, even when it was tuned down to 9 degrees).  Plus, when comparing shaft profiles, the Ventus just felt and performed that much better (ball comes out lower with a lot less spin).  If interested, I did a mini review of the driver in that testing thread:

Thanks @Rob Person- just need to replace the Paradym one.  I’ve been eyeing a Seamus one from the Bandon pro shop since I’ve regretted not getting one the last time I was out there.

SO happy to see your Aerojet 3 Wood and 5 Wood combo! I am getting mine tomorrow and I can not wait!!
