sadly I never tried them out. I know @Kenny Bloves them. Went to their site and all out of midsize in blue except for the wrap, which I hear can get pretty slick.

One bad thing anout making such a durable and long lasting grip is that they don't get the reorders other brands do.  Id  go through 3 New Decades before wearing 1 of these out.

Glad i just got an order in

I'm bummed!!  My wife and I both use them.  Not sure what I'll switch to.  I am hoping that someone else is buying the business and keep making them.

Never tried these grips but 50% off is hard to pass up. Can someone explain the difference in the DTX vs the Pure Pro grips? And it is hard to tell from their site but are the putter grips round or do they have a flat front?

Thanks in advance.

Pure pro are a tackler, more aggressive version of a golf pride tour velvet . I love thenlm.  Dtx have a different texture,  I think that's what @Kenny Bplays.

All Pure grips are rubber.  The DTX grip is their version of a full corded grip; very rough.  I like them, but thought I'd give the Pure Pro a try in my irons; very tacky.  They last a long time compared to other grips I've used which seemed to get hard and smooth rather quickly.  The putter grip has a flat front.  I installed the oversize grip on my wife's putter; she likes it, but it's too smooth for my liking, and my putter is counterbalanced and the grip is quite heavy.

If anyone is installing with air, the Pure installer gun is worth the price and especially at 50% off.

I JUST replaced my DTX grips on my irons with the Pure Pro, but left the woods with the DTX.  I should have gotten more while they had them.

I picked up a set of these when I got the notification.  I am curious if anyone had played Iomic and these.   How comparable are they?  Looking for a tacky grip that I can use without a glove.  It's alright most of the time but the golf pride mcc+4 I will occasionally lose grip on when overly hot/humid

I switched from iomic to these.  I find them to have more grip,  more tack and last longer.

Pure was originally a spinoff from Star Grips. The folks who left Star for Pure were unhappy about Star's inattention to cosmetics and marketing -- but NOT the formulation of the grips. Star is still in business and still my favorite. Try them. If you liked the feel, handling, and longevity of Pure, you should like Star.

Yes, but GP has a better business model and their grips wear out every 30 rounds of golf.

Thank you for the background info.  I am still relatively new to the golf world so getting some of these tidbits is great!

Just picked up the air attachment and the yellow neon grips! I was looking to regrip this year as I regripped my clubs this spring with GP Velvet and they're already slick and lost most of their tack! Was planning on going with the Lamkin Crossline but this deal was too good. Hoping these will last, sad that their going out of business sale is what turned me to try them.

Hate to see them go. 😒 They have been under the radar for many golfers.  Easy to install, quality products that last.

It does indeed. If that is important to you, then I fully understand why you are going to miss Pure.

I'm an engineer. Yes, I appreciate aesthetics, but my primary concern is function. In that regard, Star and Pure are quite similar.

Star does offer a pretty good color choice, but (a) nothing as eye-catching as that neon yellow, (b) only solid colors (I think dispersed into the rubber) -- nothing like the black logo on the light-colored grip. But check it out; you might like it.

I love the feel. Not squishy, but it's not hard and never seems to get hard nor cracked. I have also found that the tack not only lasts a long time, it is restored to "almost new" with a good washing (water and strong detergent or de-greaser).

A litle history here. A friend who is a reseller of a lot of golf components first told me about Star almost 20 years ago. Since I tried them back then:

  • They have been the only grip I use on my own clubs.
  • I have never had to replace one due to wear nor age. My current irons have had the same grips for over 400 rounds and their feel and tack are still very good. (Yeah, I know that speaks to Star's and Pure's business model. So be it!.)
  • I blow grips on and off without tape. (2" of tape over the butt to get it started makes it easier, but far from necessary.) In fact, I just lengthened a driver, which involved removing the grip (with an air compressor), putting in a shaft extension, and blowing the old grip back on. No problems, and the old grip is still fine. The formulation (common to Pure and Star but no other grip I know) retains its elasticity as long as my experience with them.

A lot of people loved Pure Grips... maybe it was just me, but I didn't know they were to an extent built off of another company that still is in business called Star Grips?

https://stargrip.com/

I just ordered the Air Grip Gun and a couple grips to test out.

Wow! 32-44 $ for a full set of standard grips?  That's at 75% off right now.  If I was in the market, I'd be all over that...
