Hey y’all! My names RJ. I’ve only been golfing for about 2 years now. I figured I’d introduce myself. 
I don’t really know my handicap but it’s anywhere from 10-20 depending on the day:)

I play around 3-5 times a week as I am a competitive person want to see how far this game can take me, I am also a college athlete  for baseball.

Being on the MGS site and forum can make your wallet angry at you for sure . Hard to see all these cool things and not want to buy them. All though they do a great job of trying to cover a wide range so you can also find great values in the DTC and lesser know companies that you might never be exposed to elsewhere.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t do this when I joined the forum, so I’m going to do it now lol. I’m a 2.8 Handicap currently, HS Senior, and hopeful for collegiate golf. I’ve been playing for pretty much my entire life, I figure it about 15 years, so basically when I got taller than the kiddie clubs lol.

Hello everybody. My name is Russ.  I am relatively new to the golfing world in the grand scheme of things. 

Growing up I played in scrambles with my dad here and there.  I grew up naturally athletic and able to pick up sports quickly.  And when I wasn't immediately good at golfing I stuck to only playing every couple years.  

 

That was until I was 34.  In 2019, my friend got me to go golfing and we played for 6 packs.   I bought myself clubs for the first time instead of using the old ones my dad got from estate sales/auctions. 

I was hooked after that.  In 2019 I was around a 22 hdcp. Then in 2020 I moved across the country right before covid hit. Given the distancing the other sports I would play to keep in shape weren't an option so I instead focused on golfing. I got down to a 17 in 2020.  In 2021 I got a membership and worked down to a 13.  In 2022 I moved back near my home town and worked my handicap down from 13 to 4.6. 

Currently in 2023 I am a 2.1 hdcp.

That's an interesting setup from a woods perspective. Stiff flex Triple Diamond (very much a fade bias club) to an R flex 3W and 5W that's an off brand.  If I put both on a tee, which do you hit better?  Driver or 3W?

Recently retired and now have time to play more golf on a regular basis. Have only played a few times a year over the last 20 years & not at all over Covid. Started out early this year by getting new Callaway Rogue ST 1,3,5 & 7 woods. Currently playing with 20+ year old Top Flite 3,5,6,7,8,9 & PW irons, Spalding SW and just purchased new Jaws Raw 58 8Z lob wedge. Currently considering replacing irons with combination of irons & hybrids. Received Odyssey "White Hot" putter for father's day, which has been a big improvement. Handicap currently around 35.

Hey everyone! Looking forward to being a part of the MGS community. I’m on the path towards maintaining a single digit cap while only being to play/practice 1-2 a week. Started golfing more regularly about 5-6 years ago but more serious about improving for the last 2-3. 
 

WITB - recently switched over for a mixture of Callaway and TM to a full Titleist.

Hi All! 
 

I am new to the forum and this seems like a great place to start! I am from Nova Scotia, Canada and have been golfing casually my whole life (5-10 rounds a summer). I’ve been getting more and more obsessed over the last few years. I try to play at least twice a week now. I’ve always relied on hand me downs or very cheap used gear but I’m starting to invest in better equipment. Fun fact: I recently found a 2023 Mevo+ with pro package for $40 at a yard sale!!! Using this at range has helped me improve to a 15 handicap this summer. Current WITB is all over the place but generally pretty happy it. I still prioritize budget and often buy used gear only as needed. 
 

Quick question - do people typically navigate this forum on their phone’s web browser or is there a better way (other than a laptop)?
