Only got to play once this week. Started off slowly and blew up on hole 6 and then parred all but 1 of the rest. I had a shank, chunk, and blade on the same hole from 120 in the fairway. Thankfully the shank hit a tree and kept it from going into the lake it was headed for.

Before we get into the superlatives, I would like to thank @rkj427 & @EMacK1961 for the stunning photos they posted with their rounds. The scenery is spectacular and I encourage everyone to add photos of the courses they are playing to their posts. It allows us to live vicariously through your eyes.

Low Net

With an impressive 6 under net 65, @LBC takes this week's low net badge. However, the truly impressive feat here is that his gross of 83 was two shots high from shooting his age! Well Played, @LBC!

    

Low Gross

Upon racking up another Low Gross Badge, @Javs shot a gross 2 under 70. I would be remiss, if I didn't mention that this has been an utterly fantastic season for you @Javs and I am in awe of the remarkable consistency you display week in, week out. Well Played, @Javs!

This week, @J7Hawkins posted a score that moved from the absurd, 10 NET BIRDIES!!!, to the sublime, 360 yard behemoth of a drive!!! Well played, @J7Hawkins

Thank you for the kind words! This has been my first full year retired so, I have been able to practice really hard this year. Dropped my handicap from 5 to a 1 and at one point this year a plus 1. It’s easier to look consistent when one plays 4 to 6 times a week. I find that I am able to put 1 or 2 rounds on the board. I also love these virtual events. Now each round I have more focus outside of our local money games. Lastly, I think the equipment changes and all the good data on this site really jump started my improvement.

I guess that I should be participating in this competition. Three of my October rounds have resulted in net scores under par (a net 69 which was -3 net and two net 71s at 1-under).

By the way, from mid-April to now, my handicap index has dropped from 16.8 to 14.4, and it was down to 14.3 in mid-October.  We are out of "handicap posting season" now, so my two scores that resulted in net scores below par that I shot in the last 10 days don't count toward my handicap, or I would probably drop to right about 14 on the nose.  I'm still not happy, as I was playing to between a 6.5 and 8.3 index until my early 60s, but several health issues, including three different forms of Cancer and a bone, spine and blood infection have conspired to drive that handicap as high as 17-18 in the early 2020s.
