I love how everyone is using the Mevo Plus differently.  Shows how versatile is.

My regular Mevo should be coming in the next day or two.  Quick question: can I use the Mevo for just swing speed training?  I plan on starting the super speed golf training protocol s.

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot use the regular Mevo for swing speed training. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Can you take regular swings without a ball hypothetically? Just to get swing speed?…with the mevo

I believe the radar picks up the ball. I’ve yet to have the mevo or plus read a practice swing

The MEvo+ allows you to do a "swing training session" which will give you swing speeds without a ball.  It also integrates with The Stack System.  I am not sure if the regular Mevo has this feature but I can check.

The regular Mevo does not pick up swings without a ball. I've occasionally had the Mevo say "error" when doing a practice swing with a driver. So I can pretty safely say that no ball = no data.

I’ll just have to compare swing data with a ball to see if my swing training is working…thanks for the reply’s .  I’ll either have it today or tomorrow

Got some more swings in today. Still not seeing numbers I usually do on the course unless I manipulate the Temperature, Humidity, and Elevation. It’s easy enough to do just wish I didn’t have to.  Need to get it outside to see if that helps. I’m inside a metal building so I’m hoping that’s the culprit. I do find the e6 range closer to what I see on course as well but still slightly short. 
 

I did find that even though the Plus sits on the ground and my mat is about an inch thick, setting the mevo to 0” lowered spin by about 500 on average compared to the 1” setting. That upped carry distance a little better.

I was at the range today and using the Mevo+ and getting some numbers that seemed slightly off as well.  I plan on chatting with CS tomorrow to go over set-up with them and what is the best way to set up for my driving range.

Do you adjust your tee height?  By leaving that at zero even though I’m over an inch above and set to 7’ in the setting but 8’ actual distance has helped slightly.  
 

Im content with adjusting the Temp, Humidity, and Elevation for my sim rounds. For me all the other numbers on the Flightscope range are more for comparing clubs than actually dialing in clubs.

I have.  I really messed with settings today and got the alignment ball to match the ball on the tee or even the ball on the mat and was still getting different readings from what I was seeing the ball do on the range.

I did this on Wednesday when I got my new mat. It’s pretty high up and the ball was clearly not lined up. I ended up raising  the height of the flightscope with some wood and got it level. I did hit it with it level and not and didn’t see any major issues with numbers. I have not hit it at the range though just indoors

So the outdoor range has mats and the ground dips behind the mats and I have a platform for it to sit on but everything I have seen has said don't have a valley between the plus and the hitting surface. 

I'm going to reach out tomorrow because I really think it's user error.  It still gives some great information to improve on but would love to get it squared away and have all 20 data points align.

I was told by CS that you want the Plus in the ground. Not on something to level it. Then you adjust the tee height and hitting zone in the settings to match the mat.

Do you have any insight on if this is different for the regular Mevo? I'm assuming since you can't adjust as much in settings that you'd want it level with the ball

I can’t say for sure but when I had the mevo I sat it in the ground just like the plus.  I can say without a doubt though that I’d get more realistic readings from the regular mevo for distance with the driver

That may be the biggest issue then. If it's on the ground it is just low enough I can't make it work. I'll have to move over to the old section of mats and try that.

Can’t you adjust the tee/mat height to the right range?  Mine adjusts all the way to 3” I believe.

Yeah I have to use a 2x4 platform that I built.  I may be able to use slightly less but it's a decent drop. I don't see it as much with 7 iron down but long irons and woods are where numbers start to really be different.

Any way to take a black/dark cloth that can go from the platform to the mat to simulate no valley?

Possibly. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow as well.  I may end up buying a stand for it which allows for 2 inches of lift and I may be able to squeeze enough from that.

I just read in one of the simulator forums that if you are a higher swing speed guy (100+ I assume) set the mevo 9’ to the ball. May have to try this. They said they were up to 40 yards short with driver at 5-7 foot. Not sure why they went 5 but hey experiment away so I don’t have too lol

I’m only 10 yards short in irons and about 20ish with driver although my smash was low and spin high today. I was mid 2’s with driver Tuesday on full swing with a baby draw and this is what I got today on the Mevo Plus. Everything was better in the e6 sim and course so who knows.
