Good evening Spies! Major thunderstorm at the Casa today which did not cool things off one bit. Heat index still 102 this afternoon, and felt higher than that when I got out on a honey-do errand.

Speaking of a honey-do, GF wanted to go to Miami in two weeks, and I knew of a budget airline that flies from ILM to Fort Lauderdale, so I booked her on that yesterday, and she was pleased with the savings. Then she found out this budget airline was only started in 2021 and freaked out. I told her the good news was they haven't had any crashes yet. Somehow this bit of news did not comfort her. But it was a lot cheaper than flying to MIA on American. No, I'm not going with her; I stay here and take care of the menagerie.

Golfing note: My prescription golfing sunglasses have been completed and are on their way. They'll arrive at the Casa next week while I'm on my NC road trip. Looking forward to trying them on the course.

It's getting to the point in the Olympics where there are a lot of athletes who attended/train at my alma mater competing, for the USA, Great Britain, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and other nations. Two of them helped set a world record today in the heats of the 4x400 mixed relay on the track. Gonna be hard to keep track of all of them; IIRC, there are 31 in all just in the track and field competition.

yeah, same thing happened last year!!! We had a 20 handicap on our team last year and he was a lefty!

Good evening Spies,

Did not get around to a more post. I did a 5k run this morning. My last night in Sacramento. Flying home on the red eye tomorrow. It was great visiting family. I return home to get the post for my dental implant placed on Monday. I have a tee time booked for Tuesday morning. We’ll see how that goes.

Evening spies!  Had an amazing and interesting day.  We.had 8 lightning delays over 3 hours.  Heat lightning! Not a cloud in sight! But anything within 10 mile radius sets off the warning system.  Try explaining to 100+ golfers in 112⁰ degree heat that they have to stop and come in when there is no "evidence" of such events. Boy oh boy, was I the ingrown hair on the devils behind today!!!  One guy got so angry that he yeeted his cart into a sand bunker and flipped it on it's side while yelling profanities at me. Then told me to get his $h!t off the cart and drive him back.  Nope, not happening.  Radio the pro shop and told them we had 1 walker returning and went off and herded some more players.

I did get to play my first sim lounge today, and ummmm... it was AWESOME! New place opened and are $20 first hour, and $10 for any additional hours.  I was there just over 2!

Good evening Spies, posted a little earlier but had to take SWMBO to the grocery store.

Seems that the daylight hours are getting shorter here too, fairly dark at 9:00PM EST although I am sure the clouds may have impacted that too.

Did a Titleist GT fitting earlier this afternoon and came away impressed, numbers improved over my current TSR and Callaway AI Smoke TD.

Will make a more formal post about that tomorrow afternoon, as I will be out at our club's August Cars & Coffee event at leader Dogs in the morning.

Will post a link to the pictures I take there as well tomorrow.

Good Saturday evening spies! Doing some flooring in my son’s house, but I did get out for 9 at our par 36 course today. Shot a 35 which was unexpected. Tomorrow morning is our club scramble and the freaking have me listed as an “A” player. Ughhh but it should be fun just the same. Here’s some entertaining funnies for yas! Enjoy your evening!

@Rob Person I'm dying laughing over here with how you described that guy yeeting his golf cart in the bunker. I think you had the perfect response to him, he should be willing to pay for the consequences of his actions. I can't stand the entitlement attitude.

Evening spies!

Played my first GC league match play this afternoon.  It was disastrous and disappointing.  Lost the match 6-3.  But, we had fun!!! My partner is a kid (almost 18) from the kitchen staff. His only saving grace was his putting. He has only played intermittently for a year, and pours his heart into it. We have 9 more matches left. But like me, he is only there to enjoy it.

Update on the a$$hole from yesterday,  he did damage the cart and was asked to pay for the repairs. $2500 !!! (Includes damage to the sandbox and grass) also, I've never witnessed someone being banned from a course. The corporate management will handle it from here.

Today was CPO, due to nasty storms at 0400 this morning.  Had a lot of slow play issues, but at least nobody acted out.

Good evening Spies from what was another hot and humid tropical day here.

Had a great time this morning at the Cars & Coffee event, afterwards had to retrieve some signs we had up promoting it, and then stayed inside with the a/c on to cool off.

Took SWMBO out to a late dinner, she took a nap after we got back earlier this afternoon.

Tomorrow looks to be the last hot and humid day for at least the next week or so, so if it isn't too bad, I may get to the range, or at least the practice putting green at the course close bye.

@Rob Person that is the best attitude to have anytime you get an opportunity to play. 

Reduces any added stress or pressure one may put upon themselves while actually out playing a round.

Good evening all!

It was another hot, humid, miserable day... I decided not to hit the range and do a meltdown while trying to fix swing issue with driver and fairway woods.

Took my bride and daughter for an early dinner and then swung by the PGASS to kill a little time and check out the driving irons. Note to self, don't take SWMBO and her mini me with you to PGASS. Kills the positive energy of the hunt for new club/s... Needless to say, I left empty handed.

@Rob Person Perfect response to a complete jacka$$ and glad to hear the course is taking action against the individual involved.

Evening All,

After my range session this morning, I changed my oil in my Cherokee. I cleaned up the branches and pine needles that came down in the storm last night and went into the house for lunch. I let the pups out and found more branches in the backyard which I took care of. Then to my surprise, I had almost half a tree that was blown over. So I wound up cutting that down and moved to my new brush pile. I lost 5 pounds today, and I’m almost positive that it was all water weight. Afterwards, I fir d the grill up to grill bacon wrapped steak kebabs and chicken kebabs. Didn’t have enough bacons to do the pork kebabs, but they turned out great as well. Now I’m watching summerslam cause I find wrestling enjoyable. And it reminds me of the man that raised me. Hope everyone has been having a great evening.

Good evening, Spies! Road trip to Raleigh prolonged by an hour by not one but two wrecks on the interstate. I saw Scottie putt out on 18 in the Olympics before I left, missed Fleetwood's bogey on 17 and failing to birdie on 18. Got the updates on Sirius XM as I drove.

Scottie may not be the GOAT yet, but he's damn sure the GORN -- greatest of right now.

Learned that Le Golf National, the Paris Olympic golf venue, is actually a three-course complex. The courses are called Albatros, Aigle and Oiselet. The translation: Albatross, Eagle and Birdie. The Olympic course is the Albatros. Aigle is like 6200 yards, and Oiselet is a nine-hole par 32. If I played there, they'd need a Double Bogey course (it's the same in French as English).

As an old track guy, I'm always fixated by the Olympic track meet (and have been since 1968), and this year is no exception. Noah Lyles wrote some huge checks with his mouth, but he has cashed them with his legs, and now has an excellent chance for the 100-200 double. And that 100-meter final had plenty of drama capped by the 15 seconds or so of not knowing who won. Lyles outleaned the Jamaican guy and that was the difference. That and five-1000ths of a second. Somebody wrote if the race was 99.99 meters, Lyles doesn't win. I'm not quite sure it was that close, but 99.9 is quite possible.

About to head over to NCSU to hit some balls. My work session tomorrow is in jeopardy because our nurse is supposed to fly in from Florida tonight, and Hurricane Debby is making that problematic. She's now booked on a 9 p.m. flight, if that's not cancelled. Might have tomorrow free for a round at NCSU.

Good evening Spies on what was a somewhat productive day getting things done around the house, as well as getting in some range time too.

Managed to get to the range about 5:00PM and although it still was a warm and humid day today, there was a slight breeze, so it didn't feel too bad.

Practice session went well and hoping that translate into continued good play while on the course later this week.

Good evening spies!!! Good club scramble today, blind draw so the players never played in a group today, or so it’s supposed to be… anyway, -9 took it and my team got -7 in a bogey free round. In fact we hit every green in regulation. Not bad for never playing with the people I played with. Then went and laid some more floor at my son’s house. Busy day. Good evening!

Good evening everyone. It finally happened. My son beat me straight up. Granted, it was one of my poorer performances but he held on for the last 7 holes while his game began to implode so I’ll give him that. Used my Aerojet with the Newton shaft for the first time and it was a mixed bag. Couple drives over 300 and a few worth forgetting. So, a mixed bag but it held hopeful results. Now the debate between bring the  Velocore+ or the Newton on my golf trip in a couple days. Decision will be made by Tuesday night.

Hello and good evening spies! Just chilling at my desk waiting for the time to go home. Monday wasn’t too eventful, wrote an article for the MGS blog. Good response for my first ever article. Our nurse didn't make it, but no golf today despite decent weather; too much work piled up for me to get out to the course. Gotta drive to Charlotte tomorrow. Forecast isn't super great but should at least get to the range in Charlotte with the sheltered bays if nothing else.
