josmi15
Was able to squeeze 9 in last Sunday. Shot a 47. 1 birdie, but 4 doubles, swing felt better around 5th hole. Putting wasn’t there either, 19 putts. Granted it was cold, but I honestly feel like my game has turned the corner. dhartmann34
Played yesterday here in vacation in Texas. Was fun hitting some balls on the range before the round. Really working on feeling the club shallowing out. Also worked on the weight drill while I was at the gym in the morning. On the course I hit some really solid shots today... But the old stuff really does a number trying to sneak in. I've gotta focus on that feeling of the shallowing... And a slow practice swing beforehand helps.I had a 315 yard drive in a par 5, and then a 225 yard 4 iron onto the green. 2 great shots. But i hit some really poor shots that were a mix of a lot of different movements. The focus remains on my drills and I'll continue to keep that going. Seems many courses are closing down for a couple weeks back home, so I won't be playing for a while. Plenty of time to practice. Popular Post Peaksy68
Played my first pennant match for my clubs 1st team. I played a couple of matches 2 years ago in our 2nd team. Pennant is scratch matchplay between clubs. Each division is 7 clubs, with teams of 7 competing. I didn't capatalise on good tee shots early, missed a chance to be 3 up after 3, to only be 1 up. The course we were playing at is a quirky layout, with severely sloping, small quick greens. The fairways were much longer than what I am used to and I was consistently short after the ball was coming of high on the club face. Turned all square after scrounging a bogey from the hazard and my opponent missed his only putt of the day. On the back 9 we only halved on hole. I won 3 in a row from 12, then my opponent won 2. I holed a good birdie putt on 17 to go to the last 1 up. A lack of knowledge of the course cost me on the last. My opponent went into the front left bunker, I decided to avoid that and went for the "safe" miss right. I was confronted with a chip over a bunker off a poor lie to a cliff like downslope. I put it to about 15 feet, my opponent couldn't believe I got it on the green. He proceeded to play his bunker shot to 3 inches (a great shot) leaving me 15 feet with 8 feet of break to win the match. Unfortunately my putt slid by the hole about 2 inches under. Happy to get 1/2 a point in my first outing in the top team. Pretty pleased with my back 9, need to make sure I play well from the start next week. The rest of our matches in this division are at seriously good courses, hope I can maintain my form and hold my place in the team. cksurfdude, fozcycle, CarlH and 7 others 10 Quote 849 Pro Evenflow Riptide 6.0 F8 3 & 5 Woods Project X Evenflow Blue 6.0 TS2 7 Wood Project X Evenflow Blue 6.0 MP18 MMC - Project X LZ 5.5 Zipcore Wedges 50,54,58 - Project X LZ 5.5 MLA Tour Mallet 33" Z Star Pioneer bag buggy

mr.hicksta
My week of golf ended with a round at Mamala Bay. The second hole is pictured below . 82 (43/39) - I got off to a rough start with two doubles, but buckled down and ended up having a pretty solid round. Two doubles, eight bogies, six pars and two birdies. FIR 2/14 (14.29%) - Not good, but I was only in bad position off the tee a couple times so I made it work. GIR 5/18 (27.78%) - Again not the greatest, but my chipping and pitching made up for the weak approach game. 30 putts - One 3 putt and seven 1 putts I got a lot of golf in this week and it was nice to end the week on a positive note! sirchunksalot, CarlH, cnosil and 5 others 8 Quote G430 Max 9º | UST LIN-Q M40X TSPX Blue 6F4 Qi10 3W 15º | UST LIN-Q M40X TSPX Blue 7F4 Qi10 Rescue 19º | UST Recoil DART Hybrid 85H F4 Pro 243 4-PW | UST Recoil 125 Proto F4 RTX ZipCore Tour Rack 50º Mid, 54º Mid, 60º Mid | UST Recoil Wedge Proto F4 ER5BV | BGT Stability Tour Chrome Tour

Kenny B
14 hours ago, chisag said: ... I played Mystic Dunes in Orlando and absolutely hated their greens because it seemed like every one of them had fabricated mounds and/or tiers. And not just one or two, multiple mounds and tiers on every green. Nothing is more frustrating than hitting a good drive and a great iron shot to 6 feet and then having to be very cautious trying to protect against a bogey. I played with a high index guy and his wife that loved the greens and said he always struggles on every green so these give him an excuse. He also really liked playing with better players and watching them 3 putt. LOL, that is about the only reason to play those kinds of greens. Yeah, I hate those types of greens. Overall, our greens are OK. Although the 4 greens with a lower tier are troublesome, it's possible to avoid them. They are just as easy to 3-putt if you are on the upper level putting to the lower level!! However, the rest of the greens are reasonably flat with subtle breaks that took me several months to "understand". It is a muni, so the don't trick up the greens except for tournaments.
