Cart Bags - Reccomendations?

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a new cart bag. I have used a cart a lot more this year and feel my golf has definitely improved from not using as much energy walking the course in between shots.

I'm currently using the "Nike Sport Lite" stand bag, but I would like something that gives me a bit more pocket space and fits better on the cart as my Nike one has the tendency to slip due to the fact it is smaller and not really fit-for-purpose.

Any suggestions?

I'm favouring the "Big Max Aqua Tour 4" cart bag at the moment - does anyone have any day-to-day experience with this bag, and if not, what do you use?

My favorite cart bag currently is the sun mountain mid stripe. Super nice construction and quality material. It's bouyee.

Sundays new cart bag looks solid too.

My buddy is in the market and has a bunch of club credits at our pro shop. He's deciding between the Ping Pioneer and the titliest 14 way cart. Comparing side by side the build and features of the Ping are just slightly better.

I would not recommend the ogio woode 15 way cart.  Had it. Fell on its face all the time. Annoying as hell.

I should be golfing instead of talking smack on the web.

Always been a fan of Ping bags. The "Hoofer" is, in my opinion, pound-for-pound the best stand bag you can buy.

The Sun Mountain Mid-Stripe is definitely a nice option, and comes in around that same price of around £300, similarly priced to the Big Max Aqua - (in the UK at least).

Never been that big on Ogio bags to be honest. I've heard of some quality issues in the past, and their designs give me a migraine if I look at them too long. Not my thing at all, but each to their own haha.

Thanks for your input mate 👍

I don't know if band for the buck is important to you or not,

but if it is,

the Hot-Z 3.5 is a really nice looking cart bag for the money.

It has 14 full-length divides, but no dedicated putter well if you use a really fat putter grip,

$170 sounds like an absolute steal. Luckily for me XL putter grips are a big no-no, so the lack of dedicated putter divider wouldn't bother me so much.

Kinda tough to beat Sun Mountain’s C130. Long history, lots of visual options, solid construction, reasonably priced.

I don’t know what shipping to UK would be? I just bought that bag for $126.37 shipped in US from Rock Bottom Golf.

To be candid.... I would rather walk a field with a good Bird Dog, than to walk a golf course with people. Only problem is, I can't walk.

I have no experience with the"big max".  I have a Ping traverse that I have been using for a year or so.  I had a C130 before and wanted something a little smaller.  I picked up the ping on sale around $220 and it checks all the boxes for me.  The only thing I wish it had is a magnetic range finder pocket.

A lot of US stores will do free shipping if the order is over $100 or so, so it may just be a case of shopping around until I can get a good deal on delivery or if I can find it for sale this side of the pond, then even better.

Ping pioneer is a good bag.  I had one last 5ish years of regular use.

Needed a new one this past winter. I ended up with the Bagboy revolver xp as it has plastic on the divider part instead of all cloth.  There are times I will grab 3 wedges for my walk to my ball if I don't know what kind of shot I'm taking.  I wore out the cloth dividers pretty quick on my old one.  Hopefully this will last a little longer on that part.  I also like how you can lock down your clubs so they don't rattle.  I put my 2 woods in the sections that are all cloth, as they are probably my 2 least used clubs. And it has the putter slot on the side of the bag which is really handy.

Saw this bag today and it caught my attention.  Tons of storage, huge cooler pouch, pass through strap system.

14 individual slots, with a separate putter well.  His buddy on another cart had an identical bag. But they were different companies and over a $100 difference in price !!!

It's called Naples Bay. He said he got it on sale at the GolfShop at the Villages in Florida for $89 on sale!  His friends bag was a Taylormade bag.  IDENTICAL!!!

If you don’t want to break the bank, I found mine at a yard sales, but here it is on Amazon. Good reliable and a lot of storage.

Ping Pioneer is a super bag. I had one and replaced it with a sun moutain 130 which is a good bag too though not as good as Pioneer due to most used to pocket for me, on both bags. 130 has small top pocket, holds 9 balls, maybe. Ping has large one to hold plenty of balls.

I received my HotZ 3.5 cart bag. Looks like a good bag. Plenty of storage.14 full length dividers. I don't think there's nothing too special about it? It has a cooler pocket. Fit's a quart? Unpretentious is a plus for me.

I decided to go ahead and get the HotZ 3.0 carry bag also. More useful to me when practicing, range, with it's legs, than the other. Which I'll be doing a whole lot more of. I can use the other on the cart when start playing. I'll definitely be riding.

Best part is the price. Heck...can easily afford two bags at this price.

Not sure how expensive you're looking for - BUT I just upgraded a older Ogio staff bag to a Vessel Player IV stand bag. Fits much easier in my car and the premium material vessel uses really stands out.

Their lux pro cart bags look very nice. Just not my cup of tea due to the size.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the bag. I'm probably going to be ordering a new bag soon, and this is one on my short list. I think I like the synthetic leather look of other bags more, but this bag makes me feel like bang for my buck I could do without the fancier looking bag.
