Good morning Spies and Happy Friday! I'm proud to say this is my 500th post on the Forum and it feels poetic that it's happening in this thread. This community has become a second home for me over the last nine months or so and I'm very grateful to be a part of it. Cheers to many more posts and years ahead! Not much on the agenda today. Should be a pretty easy workday and I'll be checking out some of the Zurich on the side. Weather supposed to get rainy later on, but at least temps are starting to climb for the weekend. I hope that everyone has a great Friday and if you're lucky enough to be golfing, hit 'em straight!

Good morning MGSpies from another frosty start to the day in WNY on this awesome Friday (aren't they all?) with coffee hot in the mug, space heater warming the workspace in the basement on this zero commute workday and tossing around options for this afternoon with the options of golf and lawn mowing as the main features because the weekend will be wet and we have a full day away from the house for Saturday and who knows about Sunday and the coming week only gets busier with two PGA HOPE sessions starting for the WNY PGA Section and both are over an hour drive away so (I know I didn't mention finding time to replace the rear wheel bearing assemblies when I finally get the parts delayed in shipping...) hope I don't get into problems with bearing noise slowly changing, like a little bit over hundreds of miles (and yeah I am that kind of driveway mechanic). community call was fabulous and connecting in from the golf course again this week was a 2fer with Justin @just52887 listening in with me, another round in just over 80 minutes is always a good option, just saying, and hope golf is a part of your day 33

Good morning everyone and happy Friday! I finally heard something on my car, after I had to reach out to the dealership. They told me the problem was caused by bad gas and they were going to have to clean the lines and replace the fuel pump. They them informed me I needed to make a claim with fleet response which turned into a 30 minute ordeal of answering all kinds of questions causing me to miss the first half of the community call. The part of the call I got to listen to was great and it made for good listening as I was doing yard work. I got most of it done and I'll finish up the trimming today or tomorrow. I hope it's a good start to the weekend for y'all!

Good morning Spies, Another sunny but frosty morning in CNY. Golf was a bit chilly yesterday morning. The frost delayed the course maintenance a bit. I ended up skipping the two par 3s on the front 9. They were rolling the green in the first one and I caught up with the mowing crew on the second one. But I had a nice chat with crew on both holes. It was nice catching up with them as the guys always have a smile and are just good to talk to. Spreading a little joy. I got an email from L.A.B. Golf. My putter for the test is in the production queue but with a 5-6 week lead time. They have clearly gained the attention of golfers everywhere with their technology. After listening to the podcast series The Fire Pit Collective did on them it nice to see. As far as my round went. You driver decided it wasn’t having it. But on the good side my putting was spot on. Only one 3-putt. My putter must be getting the scent of new one is in the headed our way. A 2 1/2 mile run is slated for the day, once it warms up a bit. It’s currently in the 20s. @sirchunksalot sorry about your car. “Bad Gas” are two words you never want to see together under any circumstances. @Woodrow72 hope your friend is doing better and on his way to a full recovery. Good morning all! @sirchunksalot good luck with the car repairs, and @Woodrow72 I am sorry to hear about your friends I wish them a speedy recovery. Things got changes up so actually got out for my second round yesterday. Got 13 holes in before I had to head back home. It was a beautiful afternoon. Short game still needs some work and driving was hot and cold. Couple holes the drives really set me up a couple more it cost me strokes. Still was great to get out there again. Looking forward to the weekend. The wife and I have a data afternoon planned tomorrow to likely go hiking. We have committed to making sure we get at least 1 date a month and so far so good. Good Friday morning spies! One last work day to get through, this week has been dragging for me. Weather looks to be questionable for most of the weekend including this afternoon so unsure of any golf that might happen. I will take clubs to with me this morning just in case it is clear this afternoon. Fingers crossed that I can get out and do something because this past week has been a zero in that category. Good morning Spies on another frosty Friday morning in the Motor City. Warming up later, but rain also moving in as well. Sunday round scheduled and weather outlook looks good for that. Jason, @sirchunksalot be sure to take the advice of @Northern Monkey, typically "bad gas" repairs are out of pocket for the vehicle owner/operator, and you will either need to see if station reimburses you, or possibly your insurance company. Hope that your day is the best that it can be, that something fun and enjoyable is in your plans.

Good Friday Morning Spies! Sunny & 62 degrees in Central Florida. Supposed to reach into the mid to high 80's today. Working on 2nd cup of espresso. Ranger duties today and hope to get a few holes in again to test out my T200 irons & SM10 wedges. Played 4 holes yesterday with the new clubs after work & they are sweet, including the SM10 Wedges. The timing of getting the wedges also made for a great Forum Call yesterday. Hearing how much R&D Titleist put into developing their wedges, was interesting. How Scientific they were in arriving at the black color for the wedges ! Sorry to hear about your car @sirchunksalot! Hope your warranty covers the damage & repairs! Have a Great Day Everyone! Good morning fellow golfers, Happy Friday! Where is everyone playing this weekend? I am escaping with my wife for a staycation, but was able to play 9 yesterday. Had a decent round. I am still working on my driver swing, and yesterday had some good results. I also played with the Bridgestone RXS mindset golf balls and posted my review and videos in the Bridgestone forum chat. Good Friday Morning Spies!! Supposed to rain and storm here through the weekend. Tis the season for it. And softball season for my youngest started last night. Proud dad moment, the coach pulled her in to relief pitch and she struck out the last two batters for the win! Way to go kid! If you’re golfing today or this weekend, have fun and enjoy it! Great Morning Spies, Happy Friday! I hope to get out and get some swings in later today with my son. May grab our customary milkshakes post range. Ranges are opening here and the weather looks OK. Still too cold for our US friends in warmer states, but for Canada it’s balmy.

Starting young is good. At that age, let them have fun and enjoy it. Teach them the etiquette of the game and the rules, don’t focus as much on the swing stuff. Let that come. Play games with them - putting contests, chipping contests, they’ll love competing against dad. Then as they get more serious with it, show a desire to play, then you can look at doing more. First Tee has programs, may or may not be in your area. Most areas or courses will have a junior camp or program in the summer. Even as young as 7 can participate in most of those. Let them have fun now and play. Then go from there. Don’t confuse them with a bunch of swing mechanics.

Morning all! Finished my typical shot of espresso: now about to stretch and run five miles. Hoping (hoping!) to work my way up to a marathon this fall. Not particularly interested in entering an event; just want to see if I can run the distance. For us, this has been an early spring, so trying to take advantage of the extra running time.

No, we stayed on level ground... or mostly so, leaving the decent into the canyon to the hearty. Elevation on the rim is about 7000 feet and many do not account for that in their "I can do it" analysis. I'm sure we could have done a short-ish hike down and back on the less severe grades, but we were happy to just take it all in from the rim. I do think going on an overnight (or two) rafting trip would be fun and provide a completely different experience. Looking up those near vertical walls would be something. The pictures simply do not do it justice.

Golf league went well last night. We start with a scramble, and I kept driver in play with a few really nice drives that we used and no lost/OB balls off the tee. Irons were awesome, and my short game didn't suck. So, of course it's now raining for the next few days since I'm all motivated to get out and practice.

I usually buy my gas at the same station which is about three miles from my house, I tend to like routine and it's the most convenient place for me to stop. I'm hoping it's covered under warranty, I lease from work so the car has only got 7600 miles on it, but I'm not sure if it's a warranty claim or not. They said it's a four hour fix and I'm hoping I'll get it back early next week.

Top of the pot spies . Our trip to the Grand Canyon was fun. It truly is an amazing place to see. I couldn't help but think about the first to people to have walked up to the rims and what went through their minds . My wife took a gazillion pictures (thank God for digital ), and she'll be busy for weeks working through those to add to her portfolio. I spent as much time looking through my binoculars and was able to see groups of rafters on the Colorado River plying the rapids. They looked timid enough from my vantage point (a mile above) but were likely standing waves. Here's some pictures from my cell phone. If you've never been here, consider adding to your bucket list. Good morning Spies! Sorry to have missed the community call yesterday; I was asleep. Seriously. I've been teetering on the edge of absolute exhaustion for weeks, and I think Detroit and Wednesday's return trip pushed me over the edge. I'd wake up to eat something or go to the bathroom or whatever and go right back to sleep. And then I still went to bed at my normal time after watching a little playoff hockey. Next week isn't going to be any better: Drive to Charlotte (4 hours) on Sunday, work there Monday, drive to Raleigh (2.5 hours), work there Tuesday, drive home (2.5 hours), fly to St. Louis Wednesday, work in the Illinois 'burbs on Thursday, fly home Friday morning because I'll work too late to get back to ILM on Thursday. Wears me out just looking at it. Golf-related stuff: I think I'm up to a Rypstick workout and a Fit For Golf workout today. Maybe. My new golf shoes arrived while I was gone and I'll try them on today.

Good morning! Woke up to an invite to an event at the most exclusive club in the state. Lovely day out. I'm dying to go play 9. Which is a terrible value out here. I think that's the only reason I really want to join this club; eat acces to 9 whenever I have a slow day at work. Just hard to justify when I have teenagers who want cars! Good morning, Spies!! Happy TGIFF!!! Weather turned on me this morning, which I wasn't expecting. It was raining when I got up and it's still drizzling. Apparently it's supposed to go till around noon. Booo. Gonna make tomorrow and Sunday's rounds a bit squishy I have a feeling. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Interesting round 1 of the draft last night. The first handful were pretty much as expected, then Atlanta tossed in a grenade picking Penix Jr. Sign Cousins for 4 yrs, $180M, then draft the 24 year old Penix?! They'd have been better off with McCarthy, who's younger and doesn't have the injury history. Oh well, I guess that's why I'm not in the room. Today should be interesting as well. The first 2 rounds are always fun to watch. So we'll see what happens. No question the NFL draft is the best draft to watch. High drama, franchises making head-scratching and even flat out dumb decisions (I'm looking at your Raiders, just not this year). It's high popcorn-eating stuff! Well, I'd better go try and focus on getting some work done today. Have a fantastic Friday!

Good morning MGS Nation! Had a bit of a rough night, woke up around 0300 with a splitting headache and a drenched in sweat bed. No idea what the trigger was: took some migraine medicine and went to try and finish the night up on the couch. Still pushing that monster back, but nowhere near as bad as last night. Pollen? Who knows. Never had any allergies before, but maybe it's catching up to me. On the brighter side of the news, L.A.B. Golf sent the email that the DF3 is going into production! Can't wait to get into the comparison with the Spider! For those who haven't seen this, the "Revealer" is quite interesting and amazing! Of course, when I saw my putter "revealed", it raised a lot of questions and I can't wait to do the side by side comparison! @sirchunksalot Could be worth asking the garage that’s repairing the car to keep a sample of the fuel for you just in case it’s not covered on warranty and you need to try and put in a claim against the station

morning all... trouble brewing in little ol' Franklin Mass.... town needs an override to fund the schools and people are *very* divided on the issue. back to the good stuff though - get to play 18 this afternoon. I'm always grateful when I get to golf and never take it for granted. Sunny and blue skies with a bit of chill in the air. Going to try to figure out how to get in to the weekly skins games. Hoping that my replacement shotscope watch arrives from usps in time since the battery on LRF died. Got my new no torque Axis 1 yesterday and popped on the GP reverse taper. Anxious to see how that works out. Also reshafted irons and put on some fancy ferrules so I'll be looking purdy out there. Need new tires for our SUV and they aren't cheap.... but my 17 y/o drives it so it's a must. bummed I missed the weekly call yesterday; had to take my kid to the doc. will be looking for the recording so I can listen to it. this was one I really wanted to join too. have a safe and adventure filled weekend!

Good morning fellow spies and happy Friday! The day is off to a great start as it is Free Coffee Friday at work. The hospital board of directors occasionally sponsors a coffee truck to come on site and provide employees with free coffee! Tough to beat that! Got to play 9 holes of golf yesterday with my oldest and we had a blast. I shot a 47, but did so with two triples on the card. Outside of those two holes, I played +5 over the other 7. Off the tee started really slow and I was topping everything, but the great news is that my iron striking was above average all day. Driver and other woods also got going as the round went on, and I finished with three drives of 250+ on the final three holes. Also had two three putts, which were both on the triple holes, so as the season progresses and I can manage those blow up holes, scoring in the low 40s is absolutely in the realm of consistent play. Tomorrow morning we are supposed to have our youth baseball clinic, but weather is looking dicey and it may get postponed. We do have team photos either way. It is also my oldest son's birthday tomorrow and he is turning 7! We are going to have my parents and in-laws over for cake and presents that evening and will all go to a brat feed fundraiser at his school for dinner beforehand. On Sunday, we are going to the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells, as it is tradition to go to a waterpark for birthdays. Should be a really fun weekend. Also attached here is a photo of one of the MANY drives my oldest hit yesterday that were dead straight and long. He hit 4 drives of 85 yards or more, which I think is pretty darned good for his age with no real formal golf instruction. He's very excited for a summer of playing! IMG_2719.mov

@sirchunksalot good to hear they sorted the issue with the car and hopefully it won’t be too expensive. Do you know where you got the gas from? Anyway of claiming the cost back from them? Hope it’s back on the road soon

Morning one and all! Days are busy at the moment with a project in the shop, seasonal chores, with one eye on the NFL Draft, and the other on golf. Next week weather predictions are looking pretty good, so perhaps I can finally get summer tires on the car. Oh, and get in a round or two of golf. Have a good one.

Good Friday morning Spies! The coffee is going down nicely this morning as I get ready to perform my weekly chore of providing for breakfast... From there it is off to get a sim session in with an emphasis on shaft comparison. Weekend is forecast to be a wet and windy one so I will start getting ready for Myrtle Beach trip on Monday and save the good shots for next week. Old friends, tall tales, golf, and cold beer - no better way to spend the week! @Woodrow72 Sorry to hear of your friends situation and wish him a speedy recovery. Late morning start here, but im on duty all weekend (boooo) Had a great time for the charity tournament yesterday (posted in the play thread) @Woodrow72 prayer for your compadre! @sirchunksalot hopefully they purge the lines with an external pump, pull the injectors, etc and do a quality fuel system flush, then install the new pump!!! (Ask me how I know)

On a lighter note I’m getting out for my second round of the year today and couldn’t be more excited. I don’t care how I play just being able to play is the highlight for me.
