Took the momentum from yesterday's nine holes and ran with it this morning.
Set a new personal best (by two strokes) with a 76!
Played the back nine at even par for the second day in a row. I birdied No. 12 for the first time all year, just missed birdie putts on 13 and 15, plus a few that went hole high leaving tap in pars from about a foot. I hit 10 greens overall. Turned my bag over three full times and didn't have too much trouble, save for a wasted 6 iron on No. 9 that went no where when I tried to play a long chip from the very wet fairway. Did end up having to hit a cut up 8 iron from 110 yards over water on No. 14 (knee knocker!), and the same thing with a 7 iron from about 75 yards on No. 15.
Struck my irons and wedges really well, putted well, and minus about five holes I got off the tee OK. I'm ecstatic that I saved bogey as often as I did on the front as I had four holes with terrible tee shots. Hit a hosel rocket driver on No. 3 less than 100 yards, drop-kicked a 4 iron on No. 6, pull hooked an 8 iron way long and left of the green on No. 8 and smacked a tree on No. 9 with the 3 wood. Still, I saved bogey on three of the four holes and parred everything else to make the turn with a 40.
Tee game was much better on the back nine. I hit two fantastic 2 hybrids about 240 each on No. 10 and No. 11, and then, after I caught up with a twosome in a cart that let me play through on No. 14 tee, I smashed a great driver 260-ish onto the uphill fairway with the audience. (Felt good!)
I reset the bag on No. 16, so I had driver and 3 wood available to me on Nos. 17 and 18. I knew two good holes would put me in the 70s, but didn't really realize where I was at. I absolutely drilled both tee shots right down the pipe.
Not good enough for first or second place this week, but man I'm still on a high from it. Such a fun round.
Very very nice. Nothing like shooting a PB while doing some craziness with your bag. Was this the same course/tees from your first attempt?

Believe it or not, circus used a bunch of premium features with Fantrax so no, we won’t be renewing it this year. We can cherish the good (silly) times we had.

Again my apologies, just wanting to get set for the last bit. I did go through and read the thread, but just wanting to make sure I have a complete understanding since I think there is a slight chance I may have a shot at winning this thing.
Yeah, when we restarted, I talked to Fantrax about this season. Their 2020 schedule ends with the FedEx Cup because that’s the PGA schedule too. The only way to get the US Open and Masters for fantasy is to start right back up with 2021. Rather than force a new season so quickly, we decided to just sit it out and enjoy those majors as fans then pick up 2021 in spring like normal.

Back from my Cobra Connect Challenge. Wanted to play Beaverhead GC in Dillon, but they were jammed with the lady's league until almost noon. So, I went to Madison Meadows. As noted above, I chose to bag a second driver and I think it worked out well. I was able to combine my 4i with my 3w and 5w, off the tee, on a couple of holes that had the wind at my back. Since, until recently, I pretty much played a bump and run short approach game from just of the greens, I felt quite comfortable using my 7i, 8i (my former go to), and 9i. In fact, today's performance has me wondering about my "new normal" game plan - have I fallen too much in love with the Glide 2.0?
Today's Arrows. The Razr-Fit has been sitting in the shop for over a year - got benched for the G410P.
I was striking the ball well all day; and both drivers were working. I birdied#5 and #8; (#8 the week before in the HRC for a KP entry).
Then, on the par 5 #9, I absolutely forged the Callaway Razr driver and followed that up with a 5w that found the front, hit the flag, and stopped just inside 4 ft.
I made the putt for eagle... the first one I've had in over a year!! A birdie/eagle combo - I cannot recall doing that before. Maybe I have, dunno? In any case...
I wish I had that pair of swats on tape, I could watch the replay for hours

The wind picked up quite a bit as I made my way through the back nine. On #14, I got lucky and hit a tree branch that saved me an OB... it went something like "oh, s***... yesss!!"
On #18, I had to punch out from under a tree and then gutted a 7i (would have used the UW) over the green. I then came up woefully short on the 4th shot and 3 putted 
. Talk about going from the penthouse to the outhouse on the same hole 
.
I did putt with my 5w twice and my 4i once during the round for shorties so I could get them back for an upcoming hole. The husband/wife I played with on the front nine gave me a really odd look until I explained this challenge. Neither have heard of MGS, but they have now
. Having played this course quite a bit, it was a definite advantage to deciding which clubs to choose and strategy for upcoming holes. Trying this format on a brand new track would be really tough.
So here is my entry against "the kid". Played from the (blue) tees, course rating 68.2, slope 120.
That’s really really solid. Nice shooting. What was your HC coming into it?

Allright gang, we've got our playoff format together. Unfortunately, this can't be scored in MFL so we'll have to go manual once we get there. This is our best attempt to merge all of the needs - 3 week playoff, max teams in, rewards for a good regular season, and the ultimate Super Bowl. We'll break up the divisions once the polls are finalized.
In the regular season, you'll have 2 matchups per week and face off against everyone in your conference. 13 total weeks.

So I thought it would be worthwhile to remind everyone of the playoff format. The bonuses have already been assessed according to your regular season finish.
One thing to clarify, the standings/cuts will be based off your cumulative scores. So the points from the NT affect your standings after the BMW and both of those affect the championship.
Everyone in the playoffs has a matchup against the League Average. This is just to make Fantrax count you as a playoff team and allow scoring/moves/etc. It’sa nice indication of where you stand but you can still advance past the first if you lose to it. The second round and beyond? Probably not.

You guys are fine to do this if you’d like. In fact, I find the strategy quite interesting in that it has great potential for backfiring too lol. It’s just that our main 5 guys do not have this as an option.

That's a good idea. I was also thinking stickers on the soles. Hit shot, put sticker, put away. Once you make it through, take the stickers off one at a time. Make it through again, put stickers back on....hopefully as few times as possible.

1. Points per yard are separate. I think it’s 10 yards per point. The thought behind points per rush is to reward the work horses that are given the ball a lot but don’t necessarily reach pay dirt. This is because most teams use committees nowadays.
2. Not in addition, just flat value. Instead of being 1 point like everyone else, TE catches would be worth 1.25 or 1.5. I don’t think we had considered going higher than that.
3. Draft availability will feed the division makeups which will feed a random draw for draft order.- GolfSpy_SHARK and Manimal26

I think some of those setup things are on the desktop site. You're looking for "Franchise Setup." Once we get off and running, I think you'll be fine to use the app throughout.

Well the point of this one was to raise the floor of the TE position. Last year was a wasteland and this year doesn’t look much better. At 1.5, it raises the top TEs to being on par with the top end of WR2.

It’ll take as long as a normal draft since each division is drafting separately. 4 drafts of 14 teams.

THE LEAGUE IS LOCKED
We grow every year and the cap this year is 56. Now that we're locked it's time to do some votes and tidy up loose ends. Here's a rundown of the unilateral commissioner decisions:
- 2 Conferences with 2 Divisions in each. Each division will have its own player pool (4 copies of each total).
- Season will be 13 weeks with 3 weeks of playoffs (qualifications and format TBD). You will face everyone in your conference once.
- THIS IS A PPR LEAGUE
- Waivers are processed by FAAB: you blind bid for players. Highest bid wins. Tie goes to first entered.
- New: FAAB $$ can be included in regular player trades to sweeten the deal
- Each team will have 2 IR slots. Players on the IR, listed as OUT, or in COVID status can be placed on the IR. There's a designation for COVID positive and another for COVID opt out.
- Divisions will be divvied out according to your draft availability in the votes and the drafts will be conducted at 4 different times. One commissioner in each that will the primary POC for all division activities, trade approvals, disputes, etc.

Week 4 Recap
Our competitors got a chance to feel what it's like to be Bryson and overpower courses as they flexed the woods and wedges from the new Cobra lineup. The scores across the board were lower CCNet than last week's irons only challenge and it appears they had more fun doing it too. The young buck @GB13 brought home this week's win and slid himself to within 1 of the lead locked in a dead heat by @B.Boston and @daviddvm. Each week has brought a new winner so will this week finally be @edingc's chance to bring home gold? For those keeping track at home, ties will be broken by 1) number of golds 2) silvers 3) bronzes. Right now, that still doesn't separate our top two so I'm hoping that sorts itself out before we get to the finish.

And our competitors continue to prove why they're in this challenge by smacking down challengers left and right to the tune of a 7-3 record. Week 5 - 14 in the Chamber
Competitors: You guys been dying for your full set back? Sure...with a twist. Some of you may have seen this challenge in the Euro Tour highlights. We're going to take the formula with a tweak to make it work for this challenge. Each competitor will be shooting with their full bags but they're going to have to be creative about it. Each time you use a club, you can't use it again until you've used the rest of the clubs in your bag. The overall rotation up and down is up to you, but you need to "reset" the bag before you can bomb driver again. In this instance, putter acts as a freebie club that doesn't take up a spot in your rotation; however, you can choose to putt out with another club if you'd like to reset the bag faster. Whichever club you begin putting with must be used until the ball is holed. As in the past 2 weeks, lowest CCNet wins.
Fans: Here's your final chance to challenge a competitor. You play by the same rules as them but you pick which one you're challenging. It must be someone new that you haven't challenged yet. Entry = 1 ticket in the spin and win to get 2 more. To enter submit your HC, Slope, Rating, and Gross score.

First off, it was fun having a lot of opportunities to score. The front tees take some of the more difficult holes out of the equation, so it was pretty much either driver or 2 hybrid from the tee all day trying to bash it as far as possible. With my length, I was able to get past most of the trouble on almost every hole so even if I wasn't terribly accurate I usually had little trouble just flipping onto the green with a wedge.
Couple mistakes here and there, and my putting was not great. My speed control completely left me for most of the round. Mashed a 2 hybrid off of No. 10 that just went left and ended up at the base of a tree with no choice but to go backward into the fairway. Tried to get cute with the 2 hybrid from about 195 out on the back par 5, and promptly caught it a little fat, closing the face and sending a high toe bullet hook screaming into the pond that guards the green.
But, I hit 13 greens, birdied five holes and shot an even par 36 on the front so it was an overall really fun round. Also hit my first 300-yard drive of the year with one that caught a nice dry spot and ran out considerably.
Unfortunately, Arccos didn't have the front tees for my course in their database, so I chose the closest set of tees which still reported as 5,500 yards. I do not think this is actually better for this competition than my 81 on Tuesday from the back tees because the ratings are so drastically different, but I'll let Stud run the numbers.

It was almost equal but still .4 higher CCNet than you already had. Your competitors all had strong weeks this week so it would’ve taken 67 or better to improve your rank this week...... which I think was probably within your reach if you got another crack at it with different course management. Thanks for giving the experiment a shot. That looked fun!

Week 6 - Closest to the Pin
Competitors: As we begin the home stretch, it’s time for our guys to get precise. By now, they should be very comfortable with the full set and it’s time to take the training wheels off. This week, our competitors will be firing at flagsticks trying to get closest to the pin. For this week’s entry, we want our competitors taking a picture of a tape measure to verify the exact distance of their closest shot. Anyone got the guts to bring out a school ruler?
Special Rule: Of course you can play a Par 3 course if you choose, but in addition, you may count approach shots from beyond 125y on Par 4s and 5s.
