What equipment are you thinking about?

I have been considering driving irons: I have an absolute terrible time with my fairway wood no matter what I do. If I'm at any distance, I automatically pull out the 4 iron and go from there. The M2 and I just don't get along at all: I always seem to push the ball right. 4 iron? Long and straight most of the time, which is leading me to believe that utility/driving irons may be my best interest to pursue. I've been looking at the Titleist 5 series, Cobra and the PXG long irons. Does anyone use them and are they worth a good hard look at? Thanks!

Thinking about getting my putter adjusted.   Been working on my putting a bunch since it is the only thing I can work on right now.  During todays most wanted putter testing session they happened to take a video of my stroke and based on setup the putter heel was off the ground.  My practice and testing seem to indicated that a little shorter in length and a more upright lie angle seems to help with start line, stroke, and rhythm.

Steve I've said this before but will say it again now as iam not sure what clubs you hit but if you don't have a super lofted SGI iron in your bag you may want to try one. I carry two 4 irons and the SGI is 18° and is long as heck and easy to hit and you can get them down to I believe 16°  so the Cobra Radspeed I shafted with more of a "udi"  shaft is a full 30 yds longer than my set 4 iron and I almost never miss with it nice penetrating flight and a game hanger off the tee when run out or doglegs present a problem for driver. Just an idea for you to look at and way cheaper and a single iron is in the 130 range if you buy last year's  while a UDI is 300+ check the degree on your 4 iron and see if a stronger version wouldn't help

Thank you Dave! I agree with you on the purchasing last years models.... I appreciate your help! Yeah, I have to keep investigating. And it won't hurt, I'm sure, to get a lesson or two on the usage of the fairway wood. It's just frustrating to be able to hit the irons but not that darn fairway wood!

What an awesome and unique  idea. Def worth giving that a test in the sim if looking for a driving iron.

While I def don’t need it I am looking at getting the new jailbird putter. Truthfully I might hate that it’s 38 inches and I’m not even going to test it. I just want it. The likely scenario is I go back to my Kmart putter

I don't even carry one because of how hard they are to hit!

That is a fantastic, and cheaper idea. I'll have to look into that myself as I've toyed with idea of utility irons.

Why not buy one that is shorter?   They don't have to be 38"

I stopped thinking about it and bought it.  It is a used TEE EXS 220 driver.  I have two other Tour Edge Exotics drivers and they both work well so I'm not sure why I went backwards a generation but I did, maybe it was because of the 4T core shaft that comes with it.  The two I own are C721 and E722.

The EXS 220 is supposed to have a similar profile and moi of the E722 but with a different titanium alloy used in the face.  It's already worth more than I paid for it if I was to trade for more stuff at RBG so I'm not out anything.  I might have a problem, lol.

I’m actually a big choke downer on putting.  But clearly this is just a case of fixing something that’s not broken.

I don't feel like you lose a thing going back even five years! In reality what maybe a half a yard at best??? They have had this stuff pretty well maxed out for awhile and I still believe the 2017 GBB Epic pre Epic Flash was the best driver ever built

Hey Steve, when I was purchasing new equipment this past year I tried driving irons, unfortunately my club head speed didn't get the required distance and height needed for my 3-4 iron carry distances so I went to Ping 430 hybrids. And even since then 5-7-and 9 woods are becoming popular with many golfers to get those distances. In summary, with me anyway, the driving iron wasn't a good option due to my swing speed.

Probably a great idea to test all options at a fitting centre before making the decision.. Hope this helps a little bit.

Redoing my wedges, can't decide if I I go iomic or golf pride to pair with these ferrules on black shafts. My heart says sky blue iomic, but part of me thinks it's too much blue. Any other grips come to mind that you'd throw in the mix?

Looking at drivers again/still. Killed some time thanks to my delayed flight hitting some drivers and goodness my PXG spins like crazy sometimes. Even without a super high swing speed, I look like a candidate for low spin driver heads. Everything else in the bag is staying for the foreseeable future with nothing drastically outperforming what I already have.
