Putting Green hole

So the local business park has a putting green (it's like shag carpet) however rehabbing my shoulder all I can do is putt. The kids who walk the neighborhood stole the putting green flag stick. Any recommendations what to use? Can't cut a cup in the green though?

Several options.  Soda can,  bottle of water.  Can;t find the details but there is a gasket that you can get at the hardware store that is 4.25".  Or you could just buy a set of putting discs through some of the training aid sites.

You could stick a tee in the ground and hit to that. Or hit one ball X distance and try to hit that ball with the rest

I was aiming at the falling leaves last night, sometimes the ball would roll over the leave or land next to it. Was wondering if it would have fallen in or missed, was the issue

Having the putting green is a huge asset, a good opportunity to work on distance control and stroke.

It is if the putting green is the same speed as greens on the course.  I joined my club two years ago, and maintenance does a fine job with the greens.  My old course had very slow greens, and the putting green was even slower.  Practice was no good on it, so I never practiced there; only on the course itself.  I haven't been back to see if it improved.  Just not worth it.

Went to Dicks sporting goods to solve my problem, the Ping rep just happened to be in and dropped off these rubber circle promo pieces, seems to do the trick~

Ah, the old putting disc. I would have suggested something like a tee peg (really makes the hole seem bigger) or something like the SKLZ putt pocket. If it were at home I'd say go with PuttOut, but I wouldn't say it's a great thing for public putting greens. Good on you though for finding something to keep practicing.
