JTexGolfer
I am beyond excited to see how the testing shakes out for the 2018 Most Wanted Driver. Not that I am going to replace my G400, because my wife might skin me if I did, but more to see how well it shakes out against the competition. I really think it is going to do well, and I am excited to see how the Max compares. I am interested to see how it does as well. Hoping it comes out “just†behind the G400 so I don't have any second guesses of my purchase! The only Cobra driver I have had was an LTD Pro and it was a dud for me quite frankly. Might have been a shaft issue though because that was back when I was trying miserably to self diagnose what kind of shaft my swing needed. 400 Driver (8*) UST ATTAS Punch 6S F6 Baffler (16*) Matrix Red Tie 65Q4 816 H1 Hybrid (21*,23*) Diamana S+ Blue 82 HY Z765 (5-PW) +2* Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw Vokey SM5 50.08F 54.10M Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw PM Grind 60* Dynamic Gold S400 TR 1966 Anser 2 Z Star ball Pioneer Cart Bag
chisag
Seems like lots of folks on here have gotten F8 drivers or fairway woods recently. I am interested to see how it does as well. Might have been a shaft issue though because that was back when I was trying miserably to self diagnose what kind of shaft my swing needed. ... The truth is most every OEM makes great drivers today. I am a big Cobra fan but also just didn't get along with the LTD and on paper it should have been perfect for me. The Fly Z, again on paper not a perfect fit, was so much more accurate and provided a consistent trajectory and flight even if it spun a little too much for ideal. I am always a little skeptical of any conglomerate club testing because all that matters is what someone says that has a swing similar to mine. A short quick 115 mph swing that spins a ton and needs a low launch low spin head and shaft is about the polar opposite of my swing as is a 90 mh over the top cut swing that needs a draw bias and softer shaft. That said, there are universal truths like the G400, M4, Rogue and F8 are very forgiving for any golfer but then spin and trajectory play a role in finding which one is best for your swing and whether or not you need the F8+, Rogue Sub Zero or G400 LST. And sound/feel reviews can be beneficial as well to avoid "explosive" sounding or "dead" sounding that can rule out a club before even hitting one. Sumo SQ is a great example, as I could not have played that club even if performance was perfect. I have heard younger players say the same thing about the Epic as it felt "dead" to them when I loved the sound/feel. ... For me at least, the F8's were the clear winners at the the show this year but the M series, Rogue's and G400's were not far behind and personal preference plays a huge role in picking one over the other. PlaidJacket
I'm always curious when the newest Most Wanted 20xx comes out each year. This year will be no different. However.... I'd like to see some testing matching up for example; the 2015 Fly-Z+ against a Epic SZ or the latest from Titleist or Ping, etc. Perhaps I've missed events/tests like this before but I don't recall any. Personally I see great value in doing something like this. Could it be possible that a top Most Wanted Driver from a few years ago still holds it's own or even beats the latest and greatest? As everyone knows... it's a no-brainer to buy (sometimes even brand new*) drivers that are a couple of years old for 2/3 less $$ or more than when they were new. (*I've recently purchased for under $100 each a brand new 2014 SLDR and a brand new 2015 Cobra Fly-Z+) My Sun Mountain bag currently includes: 771CSI 5i - PW and PFC Micro Tour-c 52°, 56°, 60 wedges EXS 10.5*, 929-HS FW4 16.5* Willimette w/GolfPride Contour

revkev
To those who said the shaft is most important that's not entirely true. The golfer is most important followed by the shaft and head - the head matters, there are different CGs on all of them and that will have an impact as will the loft.
